Hi there. I'd love to buy the A330 but I'm conflicted. Some say the JAR has errors whereas others say the RW is incomplete. A few have even recommended to save money and just go ahead and wait for a better one to come along.
Would you kindly give an honest pros and cons of both, please?

Well done. Bought the JAR 330 yesterday and fumbled through a test takeoff. I’m sure I did something wrong cause AP would not track the flight plan. Used to nothing but Boeing aircraft. This helped me understand the FMGC better. Going to give it another training session today after seeing this. Thanks for the vid

Personally i love this aircraft for strictly long haul flights as thats for what it is intended. It has a few bugs but does not make it un-flyable. Ive had the plane for over a year so i’m familiar with all the tricks and work arounds. It is a JAR aircraft so it isnt study level of any kind but its not hard to learn either. The systems behavior is much appreciated and rarely does it screw me over. The textures are worth the price point but they’re not anything special. Overall i recommend this aircraft from the store and the BSS RR trent 700 engine sound pack.

Fer Zim umm right now the a320 has less bugs than the a330 so i’d say stick with the a320 until the next update for the a330

Just a pointer, you always need to turn on the NAV light when the aircraft is powered up, and always use the LOGO light when it is dark.
Thanks Ryan! That makes sense to me. I was going off the provided checklist which calls for it prior to engine start. But I have found a few things that contradict other lists.

i love this aircraft even tho its not as realistic as the flight factor or toliss its a fun aircraft to fly and it works its pretty easy to learn. ive been flying it for 3 months now and thoroughly enjoying it. to make the aircraft look better there are mods for engine fan blades and cockpit textures aswell as external textures

Great video. A few tricks learnt (the frame rate message in settings especially useful - was really bugging me). Just need to find out how to stop the plane from exceeding 250 knots below 10,000 ft - I generally use the flex t/o and then change to climb thrust after takeoff (plane still wants to go at 300 knots during climb phase!)
Gary Leaver thanks! It might be something in the PERF page. You can set climb speeds for it to maintain until reaching a certain altitude. But by default it shouldn’t fly that fast. What airports are you flying too and from? There are approved cases where you can go faster than 250 under 10,000.

I got jardesign 330 not too long ago, i saw youre video and fell in love with it but, i dont know how to install ground services and it says work with jardesign for free in the bottom corner of my screen, if you can, can you tell me whats happening?

I have a doubt at 35:55. What knob did you click n why??? I mean the plane would have automatically started the descent right?? according to the mcdu data. Or did you just start to descend manually????

I had some problems with the autopilot. Whenever the weather updated the autopilot won't disengage and would not turn back on. Do you know why??
I do remember experiencing this. I think the factor that was stopping me from reengaging the AP was the speed I was at. I believe this happened to me in some bad weather near approach. Try to get the speed stable and attitude stable then engage.
I wish jardesign had come up with a330neo or atleast -300 for now 😔

I can see (at 47:04) that the heat blur from the engines looks like smoke. I have the same issue since the X Plane 11.30 update. Default planes show a realistic heat blur but addons like this JAR A330 don’t handle it very well . Is there a way to disable it? I rather have no effect at all than this ugly smoke. If you have active sky you can put the route in and it will give you an average temp.

There's a "DIR" button on the MDCU. All you have to do is click that button and find the waypoint that atc told you to go to then click it and click confirm

CptKKBOSS -777X I got it from Active Sky. You can add the route in Active Sky and it will give you the average temperature for the trip.
I think you should leave the Window Heat/Probe Heat switch in Auto mode...?
You can do both ways. It automatically turns on once the first engine is started. But if it's very cold out you can turn it ON manually.
A few questions about this video I recently bought this plane and I'm having 2 issues. Number 1 I can't figure out how to steer the plane when taxi and I use a joy stick. Now when i press my rudder left button or rudder right button it doesn't turn the nose wheel therefore i can't steer the plane can you assist? Question number 2 when i tried to do the auto pilot it wont let me turn the gages meaning when you changed the altitude it wouldn't let me do it can you assist with that as well? Thanks

Thanks! Not sure why it happens but if it does go to the MCDU and click DIR. Then select or type in the next waypoint and it will draw the green line from your aircraft location to the next waypoint. Then make sure he the managed heading mode is armed.

Might need to map it under the mouse controls. Not sure what they call it off the top of my head. May be some sort of toggle.

@@fibecheee try hitting DIR on the MCDU and select the next waypoint you are approaching, Also confirm your heading bug is pushed in showing the dots.

It is absolutely disgusting seeing how many people are commenting on asking you to release it for free or how they can use their pirated version this way. If you pirate flight sim software, then you will kill your own hobby. The amount of work that goes into these planes can't be done for free. They still have bills to pay and families to feed.

Yes I would, with the Trent sound pack and current nav data it’s pretty good. It used to get a bad rap because it was buggy during the first year of release. But they continued to develop it and its a nice plane to fly now.

With a sound pack they’re okay. But the 340 and the ini aircraft are far superior in quality.

What’s your route? They might be mismatched or your nav data is too old

If it comes off the path, on the MCDU hit DIR and select the closest waypoint. It should then realign.
Do you have some plugin to touchdown-effects? When i landing with jardesign a330, touchdown is very smoothy and quietly, not really realistic. Doesn't matter if it's "hard landing". In MSFS touchdown effects is much better. Also i have nosewheel too sensitive, really hard to control in taxiway or in takeoff before 100 knots, when rudder is alive.
I was using X-Camera with camera shake on but i'm not sure it works unless paired with XP-Realistic. This is what most use for headshake. www.xprealistic.com/
For the rudder idk it could be that you've just had some stronger wind situations going on, or your rudder control is "twitching" on the axis causing these movements. You could add a dead zone to it.

It should pop out as soon as you hit the fuel truck button and it won't go away until you cancel the truck.

Has anyone else ran into an auto throttle bug? My A330 autothrottle doesn’t work at all even when it says it’s on. It’s like I have to manually adjust the throttles the entire time
It only works if the throttle is locked on CL. If it moves from that position at anytime during flight you will lose the A/T. Comes back once it's locked in place.

Has this aircraft had a hard hit on your FPS? Scared to buy it incase I lose my money. Using at 4k with a 2080 and I5 8600K at 4.8. Around 40fps in default 738. What FPS do you reckon it will drop to? Great vid man
If you get 40 fps in the Zibo I think you'll get close to 30 fps. Depends on the airports too.

Dude it won’t drop FPS and if you search some videos on the system requirements on TH-cam you will always find a solution
When i'm using auto Throttle i put it to CL and engage the Auto throttle button But it doesn't follow my speed selected
Try taking the trottle all the way up to TOGA and then back to where you wanted it

Protox try changing the com frequencies. If that doesn’t work change the Nav freq.

Hello. I followed the procedure as you did but it still shows me "TOGALK" even though I've moved the throttle to CLB. "LVR CLB" is still flashing white on my PFD
It can be touchy unless it's right on the the marker. It should click into place. If you're using a Saitek throttle I have terrible luck with those locking in place. They always move.
@@TheFlightSimDeck I've fixed it. I think it probably happened because I activated AP1 before switching to THR CLB

tyvm, could anybody help me with how to restrict speed without filling out CDU? I like to cheese FMC in boeing and since Airbus is it feels like even more automated then boeing, its no fun for me. Id like to set speed on clock and autothrottle to that speed whilst maintaining ability to change it "on fly" lel. Also Id like to know whats the condition for flight director to respect that speed...I have tried to figure it out but aircraft respected only heading and FL, not airspeed. (yes I had autopilot and autothrottle button on)
