I fly the A300 in real life, and HOLY MESS. I had no idea desktop sims had cockpits that were that detailed and accurate. There is almost zero difference. I might need to use this to help prep for training events. I haven't played a desktop flight sim since I was in middle school (FS2000, if I remember right). lol
Just a couple of small procedural notes: 1) Most companies like to start the number 2 engine first as it is away from the main cargo door (it's a bit safer for the ground crews), and 2) you normally add fuel (switch the lever to on) at 15-20% N2. You don't want to run the engine up too much before you add gas.
Another procedural note or two: 1) When turning inbound to the airport for the ILS into MEM, you engaged LAND mode at some point, but you intercepted the LOC in PROFILE mode, which means the plane was following the GPS guidance, not the localizer's guidance at first. I don't know if you noted the switch. I may have missed it. 2) An A300 pilot would NEVER use medium brakes unless the runway stopping distance is less than 1000' from the end of the runway because they are ROUGH. lol. It's normal procedure to use LOW brakes or manual brakes after reducing the reversers to idle below 80kts (and reversers stowed by 60kts) to come to a slow roll off the runway. Great landing, though! Even better video! You did almost everything I do on a normal flight as far as cockpit configuration and flying the aircraft goes. I'm still blown away from the accuracy of a relatively obscure aircraft. It's amazing. Thanks for the content!
Ben, Thanks for your comments. I'm a retired (40 years fixed and rotary wing) pilot though took a different career path...never got anywhere near an A300. I do appreciate technically correct aircraft if I'm going to part with "retired" dollars so hearing your comments will make me dust off my credit card. Many thanks.

Excellent tutorial for x plane 11! I'm a Fedex employee and I have to say for someone who sees this aircraft every day x plane recreated an accurate cockpit model! I did laugh when I saw the GSE driving under the wing which is a big violation in real life.

I love the XP11 A300! But one question: There is something wrong with my ILS. Although the aircraft captures the GS and LOC on approach, the aircraft does not follow either. I therefore have to take over manually relatively early in the approach phase and land on sight. The "LAND" button and ILS switch are activated, of course. "PROFILE" / "ALT HLD" and "HDG" are also activated. Is it possible that I must have deactivated these two functions or what could possibly be wrong?
Nice video but a couple of wrong procedure imo. After selecting V2 speed on the FCU , press on the the speed knob and then select Green dot speed + 20kt, you should see something like presel illuminate. I think its better to set to auto on the TRP panel, so that it can set automatically the CL thrust and cruise trust, of course you can do it manually but you should have set it way earlier xP For information, regarding ILS procedures, you want to have slats 15 out before 10Nm, and before capturing G/S, select 15/15, gear down and speed to Vapp, then 15/20 (when below 205 kt) and finally 15/30 (when below 175 kts) EDIT: you could also armed, profile and NAV prior taking off :)
Interesting. Are these your procedures or documented somewhere? Because of the dozen or so cockpit videos I've watched on TH-cam a few of the things you've mentioned don't align with real world operations (based on those videos).

Btw, ASXP integration is not working. That's why when you clicked get ATIS info, it brought 000/00 knts in the loadsheet. I think it works with default XP weather now, but they are working on a fix for ASXP weather info. Also, I found out that you don't need to use level change to initiate a descent. You can keep it on 'profile' (similar to Boeing VNAV) and nav (similar to Boeing LNAV) mode. Setting a lower altitude in your FCP is good enough for it to follow all the speed/height restrictions - just as we do in the Boeing aircraft. I believe this aircraft is a great hybrid of Boeing and Airbus philosophy.
This has nothing to do with this particular video, but I recently found out that it's possible to disable all the a.i. aircraft in x-plane. I always thought it couldn't be done since it's not on the graphics page. When I did this, I doubled and in some cases tripled my frame rates. I hope this might be helpful in the unlikely event that some of your followers are as dull-witted as I am and haven't figured this out yet.
Thank you very much! Any idea why I always get terrain warrnings short before landing (~500 ft)? I just tried traffic patterns. Didnt feed the fmc, flaps full, gear down, speedbrake armed.
