For me personally, nothing is more beautiful and magical than choral music from a world-class chamber choir. To add to that, Eric Whitacre just happens to be my favorite choral composer, and has written some of my favorite music of all time. Wonderful, Peter! Voces8 is SSAATTBB so Barney is an alto (countertenor, however you'd like to categorize). They formally had two male "altos" until Katie (female alto) joined. They're amazing and this collaboration with Eric is such a dream pairing!

True ‘fluency’ with music is feeling (vibration) and how the blind can ‘understand’ music better, if they choose. Frequency (transferring often into ‘feeling’) is how the deaf can ‘see’ as they move. When someone has (what some call) inability of sight and sound and function beyond expectation…..
We should all be blind and deaf for a year, to find our appreciation of what life has to offer. ❤️❤️

This performance is from Eric's and Voces8's album "Home". The major work on the album is Eric's "Sacred Veil", and it is a stunning performance from all involved, especially the cellist Emma Denton.

Absolutely gorgeous! I sang this either my Junior or Senior Year of College and it was one of my all time favorite pieces. This song is linked in my head to another song we learned that year, "Only in Sleep" by Ēriks Ešenvalds. It's another song that I absolutely adore. I'd love to see you react to it also!
Eric Whitaker and Dan Forrest are 2 of my favorite composers. This is my favorite work by Eric Whitaker, but I have a hard time picking a favorite Dan Forrest piece!

There’s a young man I came across on TH-cam with two very serious health issues. He’s found that
Dimash’s voice lifts his spirits and viewers have been flooding him with healing stories. He wants to go to a live concert but doubts he ever will be able to.
You mentioned once about being in touch with Dimash’s team about a collaboration, and said you hadn’t heard yes, but you hadn’t been turned down. Do you have a way to reach them? Contact info? I have very little money but I’d take money out of my mortgage to get this man there, even pushing a wheelchair through the airports. ❤🙏

I love great choir music. My only issue is the tendency for so much soprano dominance in the blend. It takes a great amount of restraint to not overwhelm. I have gotten more sensitive to it as I've gotten older. I am sure it is just me, but too much focus on high notes/registers can trigger serious tinnitus.
Not just you. My mother is the same way. And as a bass, prominant soprano often means diminished bass, leading to an unbalanced sound. Everyone's on about overtones, but they ignore undertones.

You have a feedback whine in the video. It’s hard to listen to. Is there a way you can remove the feedback whistle?
Unfortunately there are some noises coming from the apartment building that I can't eliminate.
I'm gonna be contrarian and say his work is not my favourite. Walls of sound just sound like mush to me. So many notes (the one piece I've sung in had 14 notes in the climax) is about as melodic as a white noise machine.
