I have a lot of ranged attackers. Their setting right now is thick woods on the edge of the sea, so I roll every time they take a rest to see if fog rolls in. Their intelligent foes also have learned to only pursue or attack when the fog has set in. I still give a chance to see 1d4(x10)+20ft to see but they roll every time they want to make a ranged attack to see how far they can see. (If they can’t see the enemy I allow them to do whatever they wish, they don’t lose their turn if they cannot see the foe)
If weather threatens to separate the party use rope to avoid separation. An oiled tarp can be wrapped up in during a bad storm, Sand, rain, snow etc. If you can not see where you are going it is best to find whatever cover you can and stop moving.
My party found an abandoned floating city and as they were exploring multiple tornadoes broke out so they decided to race back to their sky ship (with a party member as a mammoth) just to see air elementals attacking their crew with a tornado flinging their ships gear around epic fight that lead to some NPC crew drama
That sounds like an absolutely epic session! Tornadoes, air elementals, and a mammoth party member? Pure chaos in the best way. Throw in some NPC crew drama, and you've got storytelling gold. Hope everyone made it out alive-or at least with a story worth telling! 🌪️⚡🛡️🎲
@ They did after some casts of Revivify I forgot to mention they were riding the mammoth back to the ship and decided to pass through a warehouse with arcane fuel which they used to blow up some of the elementals
How would dynamic weather work if a table has a Druid that can just cast a spell to do away with rain or predict weather for 24hrs? Wouldn’t they just break the game?

A storm can make your character feel epic

Great advice! Nothing worse than getting separated during a storm!
@@litrpgadventures6902 Well... there is always getting eaten in a storm....
