Great to see the follow up to this. I'll keep this in my memory banks if I ever come across this issue. Just pop that clip off and check the valve. Thanks for being a real technician. Hope ya get well soon.
or install the junk with an external check valve on recirc. line form the start. 🤣 yeah I know, they're supposed to be more energy efficient and magical all in a box devices, but it all breaks constantly. it's worse than old school bronze recirc. pump and brass swing checks, even on nasty water (use a strainer beforehand). I have seen then last 20 years, granted the whole recirc line was nearly clogged off and swiss cheese piping at fittings everywhere leaking.
My parents unfortunately have the same unit. 3 years old I guess it's been ok. It spring a leak in the buffer tank. They sent us the tank and tee and 2 seals. Other than that it's been ok for them
Sorry you're crudded up. Lay the raw garlic in your hide. It'll break up the crud. Had a check valve removed between the well head and pressure switch. Got to have variable static pressure changes to work te pressure switch to get the pump to work toflush the well. Also have a hookup to flush the filters and none to go to the house. Had all that crud into the house when a new pump got put in. No MO(RE! Blessings and heal up this weekend if you can.
We’re all full of surprises. 😉. Came up in Florida manual labor.. Mis amigos no hablaban inglés. You should hear me sing the Mexican national anthem. 😂
cheap plastic in an high heat/frequent thermal cycle situation, also endless fresh oxygenated water(domestic side). it would be worse now trying to use current brass composition in there. for years everyone used bronze pumps and brass swing check valves, just after a strainer on the end of recirc. lines, coupled to standard water heaters, some on timers, some ran 24/7. sadly while they wasted energy, the total energy spent in repairs/maintenance/replacement on newer device most often outweighs any energy savings. then look at what total energy they cost to produce upstream to the smallest simplest component. all that's occurred over many years is moving and spreading the problem around to a larger harder to track and calculate issue, all while they claim saving the planet....
Excellent work joe 👍👍

This one’s 10 years old and this is the first problems. We flush them yearly
👍👍👍
Is that a rubber gas line flex???
The inlet line? It’s a metal flex hose with a black rubber outter.

Oy.. All we do is keep going seems like. Go get em Mario! ⛳️
Nice. That check valve looks like it would break if you looked at it wrong. Engineered to absolute cheapness.
True but also it’s an 8 dollar part so at least they kept it to scale

Yesterday I didn’t know that valve existed. If we’re lucky…. we’re learning every day.
