When I was a young lad (18) I decided to look at my air filter on my trusty Moggy Thou. It was absolutely clogged and since I had just graduated from Army Apprentice College in 1968 I thought I was adequately qualified to change it. However, I did not have one at hand so I just removed the old one and drove on. Wow! It was brilliant, like driving without Choke (remember that knob that you had to pull out to start the engine?). The economy also shot up of course. So why put another filter in, I wasn’t very well paid so it made sense and I did not live by the sea to pick up that nasty course sand in my engine. I did grow up eventually. Great video thank you.
I’ve used them on my two vehicles before. No noticeable difference on my ford focus 1.6 but on my CRV 2.0 i can feel better throttle response. Now in my 2018 1.6 TDI touran no difference 😂

Not replacing an engine air filter in 8 years 56k miles is insanity.
I should have kept a better eye on the dealership, I do now though.
Don't floor it under 2.5k rpm the turbo struggles to spool and this will damage it
👍
My turbo spools at 1.5k. Where did you learn this and why is your turbo too big for your engine?
@@nickidean3877 this happens to all turbo diesel engines due to the high pressure in the turbo and this is called turbo surging
When you put new K&N filter in, you must oil it first.
Pretty sure they come pre oiled from factory.
Quite right, I should have mentioned on the video that it was already oiled, thats why its wrapped in cellophane. Cheers
