idk how profitable Smash is for Luminosity (if it even is), but I'm so grateful that they're out here sponsoring our players and supporting our community by bringing out content like this that would be difficult to come by otherwise.
Tea’s answer for traveling is really great. Even if you can’t make your goal, you want the trip overseas to be fun and I think thats how Leo feels too!
I am Japanese, and like many others here in Japan, we are big fans of MKLeo. It doesn’t matter whether you win or lose; we just enjoy watching you play. We are truly delighted that you have visited Japan this time. I am looking forward to watching your play again.
this was a dope interview. thanks for putting this together! I’ve always wanted more translated interviews with Japanese players, super interesting stuff.
20:46 I'm glad Tea knows this and I hope everyone does, it's expensive af and Japan 99% of the time doesn't fly players out like NA/EU so the greatest barrier of entry to Japan is money. I think people seem to forget this and the logistics behind it.
The issue is n.a kept putting themselves in contention for best players no matter what trying to discredit JP. Now that they got put down like a sedated dog maybe they can learn some humbleness. No such thing as proving yourself in the weaker country. Yet they talked like jp needs to prove themselves to n.a
@@EmptyHand49sparg0 absolutely tried, he has stated over and over that he really wants #1 Besides if money was a concern why even spend all that to go to japan in the first place? Only sensible reason is cuz of rankings and a desire to prove themselves
Leo had a huge point : there are a lot of super good players at anytime of a tournament threatening your run, so there souldnt be any shame/disappointment when ddoing a "bad run"
Tea is an entertainer. Every time he is on screen, win or lose, degenerate Kazuya spamming Electric Wind God Fist 3-4 8 times or running Pacman, I have a fun time watching him. Was hoping to hear a little bit more about Umeki's tournament organization experiences, but this is a good conversation overall.
I loved thid video i hope they are gonna to be more!! Love seiing player talking and learn more about them!! Its like my 2 favorite player too soo really happy!
I felt like the video was worth my time I found it very interesting to see the perspectives of umeki and tea on smash and what they think of international players traveling to Japan. Me personally if I went to japan I would go there for most aspects but friendship is not what I’m looking for. If the two japan goats challenged me to friendlies I would accept their challange to see if I can take three stocks from both of them. I guess I would appreciate people aceepting me in Japan it’s better than having them say oh you’re not welcome here. The Japan politeness is very strange there that part of me that feels like it’s more of a dont crap where you eat mentality rather than being nice I feel like it’s kinda of forced but I understand the pragmatism behind being respectful to others. My second takeaway from the video was that you could tell the japan scene has a lot of respect for their game and I could appreciate that.
Cool video, wished they could have talked for longer. Anyway, both the english and japanese subtitles are very shoddy. They look like speech to text ran through a computer translator.
Smash is a Japanese game. It just makes sense to me that Japan is the best region in Smash, and I am so happy for that, they totally deserve it after watching all their gameplays. They're just built different and I love that.
Spargo Zomba was also mentioned but not in the subtitles. Seem to be auto picked up and auto translated. Some also said that Tea was "Black Tea" and Umeki "Plum" in their translation.
idk how profitable Smash is for Luminosity (if it even is), but I'm so grateful that they're out here sponsoring our players and supporting our community by bringing out content like this that would be difficult to come by otherwise.
Not profitable at all, so this is very generous of them.
It’s a money pit
Give it a few years and the smash community will turn on them like they turned on Panda
@@punchingbagplays8715Not just Smash. People in general just hate for the sake of hating
Lol at believing Luminosity is benevolent in what they are trying to do in the smash scene. Amazing how naive this community is.

I know this was probably more complicated of an episode to do by thank for putting in that extra effort LG.
umeki is amazing, 22:10 clear passion for the game, willing to pay for others to flight to japan to compete! Great figure in the community

You guys are amazing. Much love from Mexico! 🇲🇽🤝🇯🇵
I might be wrong, but I think that every time the subtitles say "Spy" they mean Sparg0
Oooh thanks, i was wondering who tf is spy
As Japanese, you're totally right.
@@ignite09823 cool. Thanks for confirming.

To be fair, even if japan was paying the people who do well, none of the invaders would have received anything 😅
@@TwinHacari NA doesn't try as hard in Japan because there are no cash winnings. Many players just don't want to admit it because its disrespectful.

Spy means Sparg0.
The Japanese katakana pronunciation is spy(supai),Sparg0(supa-go), so the automatic translation must have misheard it.

This video needs to get way more views man. Luminosity is putting out a lot of quality smash content, I wish more people enjoyed and realized it
Shoutouts to Watch 🐐
Luminosity made great works which cannot be done by SNS, where fragmented complaint and isolated opinions are scattered.
goat guests also no only hosts! props to the team for making it happen!

Spy is still an amazing player regardless of his performance at kagaribi 😁
They really dodged the question when he asked why Japan is better than NA. I was looking forward to a Japanese opinion on the difference in strength.
God bless MkLeo, he doesn’t have to do any of this and yet he does it for the community.(and money of course)😅
I see you cutting out Zamba from the subtitles
