    ------------
    In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
    Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

      She had the cypher team task where she solved it with only half the key. I'm confident that she could have solved that one without the legend at all, but it still surprised Alex.
      Her well-spent youth and adulthood playing cards came to play here.

    • @AdmiralJota
      @AdmiralJota ปีที่แล้ว +52

      @@deepowls7873 I'm pretty sure she would have solved it *faster* without the legend, since she wouldn't have wasted her time assembling it.

    • @deepowls7873
      @deepowls7873 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@AdmiralJota, perhaps.
      She'd need to make the reasonable assumption that it was a simple letter-swap encryption. Only connecting that one of the 10-letter words was likely to be TASKMASTER would have then made skipping the jigsaw puzzle a time saver.
      TASKMASTER gives you 7 letters and the I, O, H, and some other letters would all be trivial to figure out.
      If Victoria got overly fancy, she might have tried counting letter frequencies and comparing them to ETAOIN SHRDLU (or similar). That would have been a waste of time. I doubt it took her too long to do the jigsaw, though it being half a puzzle made it slightly more tricky.

    • @AdmiralJota
      @AdmiralJota ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@deepowls7873 If the jigsaw hadn't been there, I think it would be pretty natural to try to solve it like a normal cryptogram. And there were multiple "the"s (and multiple other words that started with "th"), which would have been a pretty massive hint that THE T......TE. was "the Taskmaster". And from there it would have been trivial for someone like her.
