Absolutely! I will try to update as much as possible. Right now there are plenty of lakes up here with enough ice for ice fishing and walking on. We also have around 10-12 inches of snow on the ground. Snowmobile trails are being groomed and there are cross country ski trails groomed as well up by gunflint lodge, hestons, and gunflint pines!
I've walked on ice just like that. Maple Grove, Minnesota maybe like 2002. It is unnerving because its perfectly clear . No snow, like walking on the water. Yes you can see fish and everything. We chased a muskrat under the water for quite a ways.

Wow what a cool experience. My favorite is when the ice is fresh and see-though like that. I am stoked already for next season!
Remember: no ice is safe ice! If you plan to go ice skating on a lake, always be cautious!
