In the parts where the camera is behind the appliances looking up at the air conditioner, you can see that they're just floating. Especially noticeable on Kirby, there is no visible floor yet he seems to be sitting in midair. I never noticed this before and it's much easier to spot in the restored version.

The PAL's frames are more stable, not dancing around like the NTSC original. The NTSC has a bit better color match in some spots, but there also is some color correction in the PAL as well. The PAL standard does offer more lines of resolution overall and less flicker than on the NTSC original. I don't know; you decide.

Colours look better but if you actually saw each on a dvd and compared them, you'd see that the original looks really bad, like it's a VHS tape, and a lot of detail was lost. The restored is from the original film negative that the movie was recorded onto, revealing all that lost detail.

Well 7 frames is a second and adobe is about to be your best friend. Id look at how Brain Dump animates his stuff. Itd make the appliances look like they could talk in a trippy way. He made a vid on it.

But I don't know what other programs I could use to superimpose my face onto the appliances, though. I was thinking something like the annoying orange type of effect. But I don't know what other cheap or free programs you can do that on besides Blender, and that's way to hard to learn.

I'm about 1/3 of the way through doing the B Movie song scene, which is what I'm doing. I did put googly eyes on them, though, so maybe it's more silly looking than anything.
As a kid from a broken home I completely understood what the AC was saying...and as an adult the fact that I knew the ac was right at such a young age makes me sad.

Good idea to get it digitalized, VHS tapes don't last much past 30 years even if you never touch them, the magnetic strip wears out on its own.
