- A detailed look at the blessings and struggles of ministry in Finland from the perspective of four church leaders.
The primary purpose of HeartCry Films is to share something of the great work God is doing in the world through indigenous missionaries. In our films, we share personal stories from the field that transport viewers into the hearts of the missionaries and feel the struggles they endure for the sake of Christ. We do this with the goal of encouraging believers to turn away from the vanities of this world, worship God for His works, follow hard after Christ, and give themselves to the fulfillment go the Great Commission in the world as those who go and those who send. heartcryfilms.com

Aww my brothers and sisters in Christ my heart goes out to you all. Here in Southwest Missouri people have the attitude, Give me anything but Jesus. Churches have sin in them and resemble the world more than Jesus. Sin is actually rampant in the churches. We have a small church of 8 or 9. We sing the Old Hymns. We focus on the Bible and if it ain't in the Bible we don't want it. We follow Holiness. The women shake hands with the women and likewise the men. Wow.en hug on women and Men hug on Men. When we pray for a man us women lay hands on our husbands who have laid hands on the man being prayed for and it's the opposite if it's a woman. We pray for God to send those that he wants and keep our those he doesn't want. I guess there's a cotten candy gospel all over the world. Prayer is needed big time. Praying every night.
You've got your work cut out for you there. You can tell a Finn, but you can't tell him much. They need to see Christ.
I'm a young swede living with an unbelieving family in the outskirts of Norrtälje. There is one church nearby, a beautiful church from the 13th century owned by Svenska Kyrkan, the lutheran church of Sweden. They say they are confessional lutherans holding to the Word of God, yet they endorse same-sex marriage and even have such 'weddings' inside the churches, and also ordain women as priests. I sense the same problems brought up in the video, sadly. I have attended a few services, and am also conversing with one of the priests of the tiny congregation. When looking at the big picture, sadly, Matthew 15:8 comes to mind, or the like. Oh, how we must pray for the arm of God to move everywhere! I found some great comfort in Psalm 139 today. Let us all praise the Lord!
I see it all over the world. Even in America. America is not a Christian nation anymore. It only took 1 generation.

The Lutheran church sounds like the Anglican church in the UK: people attend when they're hatched, matched and dispatched. Very scary for the souls of the people of Finland, the UK and most of Europe. They've been inoculated to the Gospel

I live in Helsinki Finland and there is only one small Pentecostal church of 150 members in the eastern region of Helsinki with 140 000 population that is actually a good born again Church. The rest are LGBT-affirming Lutheran churches.
Perus kyrkan is a sound lutheran church but it is a swedish speaking church. Even though I don't agree with their soteriology, I can also recommend Raamattu puhuu.
What is the church you are reffering to?
There is surely more than one in Helsinki. I can think of like 4 churches/places that I have visited and could happily visit again and that I would recommend if someone is seeking a church; namely One Way, Israelin Paimen, United Community Church and Calvary Chapel. Of course I have visited some places that are not so good but I am sure there are many good options that I do not know yet... I tend to visit mostly in home groups which are also plentiful although they vary a lot in scope and quality. Also it is also good to realize that even in the best places you may find many individual people that you do not agree with 100% or get along or would avert their company for various reasons...

Yes, in the whole of Helsinki, there are at least several good churches may be even more but I am talking about eastern Helsinki, like Kontula, Myllypuro, Mellunmäki, Jakomäki, etc. Our church is planning to open another church in some of these areas because there are simply none, only lukewarm churches.

We have a great cloud of witnesses cheering us on, watching us, hoping we will trust the mighty and sovereign God. The path is narrow that leads to eternal life, but Gods grace, and strength, can enable us to run this race - there is so much joy ahead of us - we must seek him everyday. Press in with all your heart.

Paul Washer, I agree that there are many apathetic Lutheran Christians around the world just like there are in every denomination. I love listening to your sermons. I think you are excellent at teaching and preaching both God's law and gospel but I encourage you to consider what God's word says about baptism. Read Col. 2:12. Baptism is much more than a public affirmation of a person's faith.
Can you elaborate? I'm 2 minutes into the videos and I have not heard anything about baptism. What did he say about baptism?

I have a Christian brother in the Helsinki area. I see that one of these Churches is meeting in the Tampere area. Does anyone know where the other one is gathering?
The church that Kyle is pastoring is gathering 15 km from Pietarsaari in a place called Lövö. So Tampere is much closer to Helsinki.
I am not a calvinist but the most important thing is that you have a church where the gospel is preached and be encouraged in your walk with Christ so that you can grow and be a light in this dark world. God bless!

if you listened to what specific problems the Lutherans are giving them in this area, you would realize that neither of the two Great Schismatics would be appealing due to their theological policy.
Please do not give up on the Lutheran Church. The Spirit of God is at work there.
