Tall and tan and young and lovely the girl from Ipanema goes walking And when she passes, each one she passes goes When she walks, it's just like a samba that swings so cool and sways so gentle That when she passes, each one she passes goes Oh how I watch her so sadly How can I tell her I love her Yes I would give my heart gladly, but instead, when she walks to the sea, she looks straight ahead not at me, Tall, and tan, and young, and lovely the girl from Ipanema goes walking and when she passes, I go, The girl, the girl the girl from Ipanema, from Ipanema (Ooh) how I want her so badly how can I tell her I love her Yes I would give my heart gladly But each day, when she walks to the sea She looks straight ahead, not at me Tall, and tan, and young, and lovely the firl from Ipanema goes walking And when she passes, I smile - but she doesn't see She ain't looking at me

According to the "bible" (Real Book) Jobims original version is in F. I`ve played always played it in this key, but surely it depends on female or male singing .... which makes a difference. Anyway the F#m shoud be a Gbmaj7
@@barbarawiebeloveontherocks4375 I think that can be said for most songs, musicians will often transpose keys to suit the singer but in the case of The Girl from Ipenema, the question of the key predates any tradition set by the Real Book. The version in the Real Book is indeed in F and this is common practice in today's standards of westernise music, however Jobim wrote the tune in the style of traditional latin jazz from Brazil and from what i've heard, they hold the version in Db in high esteem.
one year later :D not that extrem :D we can reharmonise the F#maj7 to B7 into a F#maj7 to Fmin6 to make it easier , almost same for the rest ! minor to major soloing !
This program doesn't sound like Band in a Box, is this iRealpro? The sounds are better, but the comping is still very stiff, and it would be much better to have acoustic bass
great chord chart clear and simple, blessings.
Thank you!! So fun to sing over these changes :)
Very helpful to navigate through the song. Thanks for uploading it.
Dudu Oliveira, um excelente flautista, desde o inicio de sua carreira! Excellent interpretation!
This is just beautiful, thank you!
Thanks for this excellent backtrack, which reminds me of my younger years when I started studying music.r
Wow that's nice ... I have been looking for the chords for this song & here it is .. thank you ..

Tall and tan and young and lovely
the girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, each one she passes goes
When she walks, it's just like a samba
that swings so cool and sways so gentle
That when she passes, each one she passes goes
Oh how I watch her so sadly
How can I tell her I love her
Yes I would give my heart gladly,
but instead, when she walks to the sea,
she looks straight ahead not at me,
Tall, and tan, and young, and lovely
the girl from Ipanema goes walking
and when she passes, I go,
The girl, the girl the girl
from Ipanema, from Ipanema
(Ooh) how I want her so badly
how can I tell her I love her
Yes I would give my heart gladly
But each day, when she walks to the sea
She looks straight ahead, not at me
Tall, and tan, and young, and lovely
the firl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, I smile - but she doesn't see
She ain't looking at me

Wrong key. The original is in Db.
Couldn't agree more, but even with this version in F, the sharps should be flats (e.g. F#maj7 should be Gbmaj7 as with D#7(9) and Eb7(9))

This is great! :D but I don't really know what to play against the II'nd, what scale do you guys use? also is this Lydian?
the chords in this are pretty extrem ..
+Moncef Fadal You can get around most of it in one key. Even with the tritone sub
Moncef Fadal
one year later :D not that extrem :D

Moonn ehhh idk if I’d say that, but kinda I see what you mean
With what program do you make this, it's for me important because my sight is very bad for reading a normal score
Seems like going into the bridge the chords aren't right for the melody?
Could do without the C#9.

i have one version in iRealpro that sounds great.
What does % mean?
% means that you have to repeat the chord/chords of the previous bar :)
Thank you.
JekkylPK Yes
repeat
+Wessley Stan you just repeat that chord
es bossa nova la original! no es un standard de jazz
