- Samba Jazz Syndicate plays their version of Jobim's "Girl From Ipanema"; in 7/4 time!
We used four cameras for this shoot and full multitrack audio and subsequent mixdown with some incredible microphones (thanks to Kim Pensyl for the Coles 4038!).

Finally a drummer who plays cross stick correctly. I'm a drummer and am surprised at how many pro drummers do it incorrectly.

This is really gorgeous bosa nova at its absolute best. So beautiful. This band is about outstandoing musicians working together as an integrated organic whole. I often listen to this particular track more than once - it lifts me up and carries me to a special place. It defines for me why I love this music so much!

Excellent. That Drums+Bass duetto was extraordinary, and the rare 7/4 tempo was achieved effortlessly and seamlessly. I'm finding that it was a looong time since I heard such a pristine Vibraharp sound, just great!

Great musicians!! I love their version of Triste. Would happily go and see them if they still performed. 1.25 time is amazing though :D - we almost have Niels Henning Orsted Pedersen and Oscar Peterson. Respect to Phil DeGreg and Aaron Jacobs though, both are ace :) This amount of musical ability takes so much time and dedication. I would love to see more. I love Rusty Burge though, so suarve. We need more vibe-ers

They are very special about musics. The best music compositions of Brasil. Jobim is a master ... but I didnot enjoy FORRÓ I listened while on holyday in Ceará - Brasil.

I had trouble figuring out what time it was in. I had to read others' comments to find out. The musicians are outstanding, but for what little my opinion is worth, "The Girl From Ipanema" just doesn't sound "right" in 7/4...too hard to follow. As a lover of Jobim compositions, and especially The Girl, perhaps that's why I feel that way.
