Ace the thing about animals eating the mushrooms, different animals react to different poisons, like how chocolate is poison to dogs. So if you see something that has been eaten it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s nontoxic. So you got lucky this time but just be careful what mushrooms you eat.
chocolate isn't actually poisonous to most species of dogs and almost always if animals are eating them then there probably fine. But I agree with you I'm never ever takin a mushroom in the wild just because animals are eatin it

Just a quick recommendation, try cutting the mushrooms of the ground on the very bottom rather than plucking them. That way, the mushrooms will grow again

I forage for mushrooms myself, DO MORE!! lol Looks around white oak trees for Chicken of the woods mushroom (grows on the dead or dying oak trees), Hen of the woods mushrooms, and Oyster mushrooms (grows on the trees). Lions Mane mushroom grows on mapletrees (easier to spot on chopped down ones), Elm Oysters grows on elm trees. Good luck hunting, its FUN!
