I think the actual truth is. Ronaldo fans KNOW Messi is the far superior player HOW he plays and all the statistics prove this beyond doubt. They just deny reality about it though.
I find that many more Ronaldo fanatics appear on Messi posts trying to denigrate him, than you find the other way round. In general, Messi fans are happy to say Ronaldo is a great striker. They just don't think he is in the conversation about who is actually the best player of all time. There are many in front of him.
