IMO the Las Fusil is still (far) better, does about the same damage, can multi kill, and most importantly its much more forgiving. With the bolt if you are even one frame off the characters hitbox you're missing that shot, the las fusil on the other hand has a really "thick" shot that hits your targets even if you're several frames off target, making it much easier to use
There is no excuse for this thing to have such a low ammo capacity. Fusil still does more damage, in a long AoE, and has more ammo with better ammo economy.
It takes only two headshots against majoris now in order to take them down, i'd say it has much improved after the latest update. As for the minoris you can just use your secondary or melee in order to take them out.
@@PrimarisAngelusMortis I agree. The sniper can hold its own in a fight, but the class isn't meant for Wave clearing, it is meant to drop the big guys while the team manages the wave.
Wrong. Both the ammo economy and wave clearing remarks are just wrong. With the refill 50% of reserve ammo on each hit perk, by hitting 4 enemies with one shot, you gain back two bullets. So you end up with one more bullet than what you started with before taking the shot. I constantly fire into hordes, piercing through them, while picking off majoris with the same magazine. If you pick your shots and reload wisely, then ammo economy is great while decimating hordes and picking off larger targets. I used to go with the Las Fusil but this is now changed and I'm not looking back. So: pick off larger targets, fire into hordes to get some ammo back before reloading, reload. Rinse and repeat. And the parry / evade + gun strike then popping a headshot in with the bolt sniper is also very underrated. You can't do that with a Las. With that being said, I'm not stating that this is better than a Las build but after the latest update, it's a viable alternative and you can no longer say that a Las build is objectively better. Now it's really up to your playstyle and preference whether you pick a Las build, Stalker (or Marksman carbine) build or Bolt Sniper build.
It still needs more ammo capacity. Its so incredibly low, you have to really be mindful of ammo use, vs the Las Fusil with its ammo regeneration perk and other advantages... There still isn't a reason to use this outside of just extra variety :(
The only way to make this gun good is to have it deal more single-target damage than the las fusil or give us more than half a fucking magazine of reserve ammo
Looks like imma have to work on the Sniper Bolter when I get home THIS LOAD OUT IS CRAZY the fact you can go invisible so quickly 2 to 1 tap a head on Majoris Enemies OP AF as every Space Marine should be
7:41 3 shots in a row. Middle shot did not have hit indicator. Was it a miss? Is this a bug? I could not hear a proper enemy groan either like in first shot.
Tbh i know the fusil is better on paper but i spent the majority of my time getting my sniper to levelled on bolt sniper, so im used to the timing and everything and the fusil just doesnt really sit right with my brain. Im still gonna level it to relic (its still gray even tho my sniper is like, level 20) just to give it a fair shake but i dunno. Bolt sniper just makes more sense to me
I am trying to level it now. It is a totally different play style. The charge time, even with the perks to speed it up, makes hard to use compared to the Bolt Sniper. With the Bolt sniper, you can Drill headshots into warriors while they charge you, dodge/parry, then quick scope another shot without breaking stride. The Rate of fire is what makes it better for an aggressive player. If I wanted to stay back and choose my targets carefully, I would play a guardsman.
Different playstyle. Las fusil excels at mulching a horde because of the ammo perk and a larger beam, but the slower start up means youre less able to respond to threats rapidly unless certain conditions are met. Bolt sniper will always be the faster option. Imo the ammo economy is still meh for the bolt sniper but the advantage of the las fusil only exists when youre hitting multiple enemies. Using it on a single enemy is pretty wasteful even if youre 1 tapping them.
This is how I have been playing the Sniper even before the buffs. The ability Snap a headshot while in the middle of a melee fight can not be under rated. The Laz may be better stat wise, but you can not fire it as fast as you can the Bolt Sniper. Snap a headshot - Dodge/parry - then snap another one. It is a VERY under rated gun.
Good kills. I dont think you should have been finishing them off with the bolt snipers though. Even with the ammo refund its still wasteful to waste a round on a single majoris when its already in red. Just finish it off with the pistol when able!
Its a 25% damage increase on headshots that allowed for many new breakpoints on majoris and even the zoanthrope. Its breakpoints that matter, and it shows. Being able to 1 tap a csm with the right setup is more than acceptable.

Bots don't use items like relics for close run fails. You lose out on 2 team perks with bots. And they don't do a lot of damage to bosses and the like. I have had team mates worse than bots though
@@aratay3117 It's not that they "don't do a lot" of damage. They do nothing. Their damage to bosses simply "doesn't count", just watch it closely next time you solo. They shoot, they hit, but they don't take anything from boss HP bar. So all dmg to bosses is up to you. 🙂

@@sackman11 This guy has skill, so no.
Las is awesome but I don't like the charge up time, this one is easier to pop a head with quickly in a hectic fight.
I would try the bolt if I were playing on PC but I'm not quick/accurate enough on controller
Especially if you take the "widen beam" perks. 3-5 minoris easily with 1 shot

Agreed. Sniper Bolt should have a few more ammos.
If you run the bonus headshot damage team perks, you can run the ammo relic variant and 2 shot majoris without cloak.

I think it’s perfect now. Had lots of fun in leathal missions today. One shot for zeonthropes with the 30% health perk. This thing smacks
With the Bolt Sniper, Zeonthropes are not even a concern. Most of their front is HEADSHOT.

I still prefer the stalker or even the carbine over the Sniper Bolt
It's everything in 1, def one of the s-tier weapons imo. Tacical + stalker is everything you need close ,while being ranged enough to do work.
