Great video Mike. Reminds me of my time filling our silo. Farm sold 20 years ago and now retired.I did love all the activity of the harvest seasons and the interaction with the crews. Thank You.
Thanks for the video you need some help glad to come over again to USA its just a few minutes flying from europe lol have a good day greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer
New fan, great stuff! Love how you include the next generation. Looking forward to new vids as well as looking back to learn how you do things! Not a farmer (but in the fam) so pretty familiar with corn, beans n wheat. Enjoy the perspective on a crop im not accustom to. Cheers!
Really good explanation of how the silage box and the blower work ! Especially when they work like their supposed to ! Hahaha Nice looking feed , cows are really going to enjoy that and put a lot of milk in the tank! Thanks for the video!
Do you notice the 4055 being much louder straight piped? I straight piped my IH 886 and it is LOUD outside the cab. Best thing I did, though. The air conditioner keeps the cab cooler and it runs a tad cooler. It’s just a chore tractor so I don’t do much other than feed with it. In a pinch it runs the moco occasionally and I always square bale with it. But if I hook it to the old 750 drill you can hear it a mile away.
it is 6-12-2022. After enjoying the video you posted today, I just couldn't get enough. So while I was refilling my lupus/ rheumatoid arthritis medication in my daily dispenser packs I just let my phone go and kept on. It is the proper season so why not??
I like the way you think Anthony. My next couple of videos will be about chopping and unloading haylage so I'll get them made up and posted and hopefully you enjoy them too
When the pipe plugged up when I worked the dairy it would plug in the straight pipe right by the blower but that was normally when corn silage was being put up .
I knew oats or a similar crop was planted with alfalfa, I hadn't seen anyone plant it alone and try to get a good stand the first cutting (even the steer will say it never hurts to try) lol
how you come you don't rake rows together also it's not fast enough you can pretty well burry the augor on that blower we have the miller pro version and 1st cut grass we can cover that auger and it will eat it
We don't rake the rows together because we don't want to knock the leaves off. We just got the rotary rake and my dad is still a little unsure about it.
@@mikep7810 ok and I was joking with the blower I alfalfa blows harder and we run 1466 set at 200+ hp on our blowers which I think is slighly bigger the you 4040
chopping...one of my favourite kind of videos!:) And your videos are great as always..:)
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoy the videos
Looking like good feed Mike. Love chopping videos. Filling silo was always my favorite thing to do on the farm
Thank you Andy. Its definitely one of my favorite jobs too
Thank you for putting up your videos me and my family like them.. my god bless you and your family
Thank you Bob. I appreciate it and glad to hear you and your family enjoy them

Nice looking silage girls will milk great on that! Thank for reminding me why I bought a high dump and receiving wagon!
Thanks and no bbn problem. Thanks for checking out the video

Great video mike.... good to see your dad in the video too..... happy harvest boss
Yeah I ended up getting a 2nd camera so I should be able to get some footage of him in the combine this harvest

Thank you Lee, I try to explain things as best I can. Sometimes I wonder if it makes any sense!
Excellent video, wish we could smell the forage!!! 👍
I know maybe in the future they will invent a smell-a-vision feature. Then you can turn it off when I spread manure! lol

Yeah its definitely louder. If I put it on the blower I would probably need to sit inside the tractor on the wagon
Great video, last cut in before corn , topping off the silo ,
Thank you. Yes last cut before corn. I'll be looking forward to corn harvest
Mike done the same greased it up and was in a hurry didn't check everything and like you said can't blame someone for doing the same as they had done.
Yeah if you start playing the blame game to often then you start making the same kind of mistakes

Nice job Mike.

Sounded like you had a sick cat in the cab with ya!😂
Lol I know right
I like the hat.... Nice video to
Thanks Andy. My dad said "what you didn't wanna wear the SC hat" lol

Nice job mike. From Golden oak's farm il.
Thank you Peter. I appreciate it!

Knock on wood we dont have a huge problem with corn silage. We dont plug much but if we do it's in haylage and it's where it starts to bend
That's a bummer I liked their set-up they did great for the farmer I worked for many yrs ago.
I want to Thankyou for having a very good looking John Deere.
Thank you

Yeah sometimes you gotta break from the norm and try something new. It might work great and it might flop. You never know
Great job!
Thank you!
Good video mike
Thank you Matthew
Back at it again. Thats good
Last cut of the year before corn
@@mikep7810 nice. Looks good. Can't wait to see that dion head cutting.
I can't wait to cut with it!
@@mikep7810 beautiful corn head amazing how they cut Any direction. I want one bad. Haha. Someday I hope
@@massey375 You won't regret it. If you go through my videos I think the video called "bagging silage part2" I chopped against the rows
Was the red and white in the background Midge? Glad everything is working better!
No it wouldn't be her, she wouldn't be in that big of a group yet
Thanks! 😀 you know I’m a sucker for those red and whites!
It's hard not to be!
Nice silage wagons but does nobody run gehl choppers or wagons anymore?
I've seen a few of the wagons here and there. My uncle has one. Probably people because gehl hasn't made them in a long time is why you dont see many
Nice video. Do you have much hay left to bale?
Couple of fields. It's pretty thin so it shouldn't take too long
How about you?
@@mikep7810 70 acres of first cut and hopefully 40 of second, and maybe a little third- depends on the dumb weather lol
Lol I hear that. Hopefully it cooperates
You don’t hook up blower to tractor drawbar when it’s running?
Nope. We raise the wheels and block the blower so its level and hook up the pto
Nice chrome stack.
Thank you
Es un vídeo muy bonito. En esos silos cuántos kilos entran?
Gracias. Si tuviera que adivinar, diría que tenemos alrededor de 500 toneladas
What model new holland silage blower is that?
F62B
Do ye pack the grass in the silo or how do ye get the air out
As the silo fills up the air gets pushed out. In the next video I show the top of the silo
Thanks
It's not a bad blower. I like the looks of Dion's blower. Bigger intake auger and better put together
how you come you don't rake rows together also it's not fast enough you can pretty well burry the augor on that blower we have the miller pro version and 1st cut grass we can cover that auger and it will eat it

@@mikep7810 I think the fuel pump has a screw on it you can fix that

after hayloge then corn silage chopping
First we have some baled hay to finish hay then its time for chopping corn
👍
Thank you
I like the way youall do things. You seem to have a very ''clean'' Family farm. Keep up the good work.
Check out my videos ar Paul Case.
Thank you Paul. We try. We could do a better job and landscaping and stuff like that
Can’t trust those people from New Jersey 😂😡
haha most of them are pretty reliable!
