I remember Jimmy Sirrel being interviewed after the game. He said he was pleased with the result because as a nee season starts you always look to score your first goal, keep a clean sheet, and get an away victory.... and we got all three on the first day.

I was in the away end, aged 14. To see Notts playing in the top flight was enough. To beat the reigning champions in their own back yard - after they’d just paraded the trophy before the match...? We were in dream land! 👍
