Baseball Hip Internal Rotation Assessment

  • To test if you have enough hip internal rotation as a baseball hitter or pitcher, you can use this simple assessment.
    Set up by getting into a stance that places your feet exactly one of your own foot lengths away from each other. Get a slight hip and knee bend. Place a bat directly in the middle of your feet.
    Place most of your weight on the heel of one foot, and try to rotate that foot towards the bat. If your toes can touch the bat, you have enough hip internal rotation.
    If you cannot touch the bat, you need to work on your mobility of hip internal rotation!
