I went to easter road in the 90's and the seats were so close together everyone over 4 feet tall was sitting side saddle. Pretty sure that stand is renovated now.
Lot of history behind these grounds, and the Glasgow ones too, more than many people realise. Murrayfield - 1st stadium to have undersoil heating. Easter Road - 1st stadium I actually had a clenched fist swapping experience at 😇 Hey Bruce, what happened to Goldenacre, Meggetland, Inverleith, Ainslie Park, etc.,
@@richardsteven3935 as a neutral, I wouldn't say one is better than the other - and that is despite my aversion to green. Visitor experience is much n much the same.
Hearts played at 4 other locations before moving to Tynecastle in 1886. Also the Gorgie stand does have one concession to space constraints. Though not quite a corner cut-off like the Fester Road stands the the number of seating rows is reduced at one end.. (Bottom right in the image shown)
Myreside was only 14K when they put up a load of scaffolding with seats on it when Edinburgh played there. It's normally about 5 or 6K, and that's with the outside terrace included.
Tynecastle is objectively a beautiful stadium. The seating being so steep means fans and players consider it one of, if not the, best to play at/watch.
@@livifan45it definitely holds more than the claimed capacity and it has the history of the Commonwealth Games so it probably should be included as with Goldenacre.
They do exist, but play in the Scottish National League. Could argue whether or not they're the same club though, not really a continuation of the Elite League side.
@@davehedgehog4391 Yeah you're right I just looked, is it a phoenix club type thing because I remember looking a few years ago for the website to see if I could still get jerseys and it didn't exist. Looks pretty flash, maybe they are thinking of coming back to the elite league?
@@rerooar Yeah just a recent thing, just completed their second season. Been getting very good crowds, given they're winning more often than in the EIHL days. I don't know about an Elite League return, but they have played in cross border cup competitions against teams from the NIHL (effectively UK second tier, far fewer imports) in the last few seasons and I think there's an appetite from some clubs to see the NIHL expand north. At the moment Solway Sharks are the only Scottish team in that setup. Travelling has always been the stumbling block.

It was traditional in the claymores games for the fan to be introduced to the players !
love Hibs and hearts grounds

Great stadiums with beautiful names for Hibernian and Hearts.

Hey Bruce, what happened to Goldenacre, Meggetland, Inverleith, Ainslie Park, etc.,
They're all too small - at the start of the video it gives a minimum capacity for inclusion of 4,000.
@@gordon1545 Meggetland is 4,500
Tynecastle is the best in edinburgh, Easter road is going to be no more soon.

@richardsteven3935 it's a shitty hotel with a football pitch attached to it.
Have you done Belfast yet?

I really like your content, especially in Mediterranean part of europe for some reason

Meadowbank?
just a sports centre
@@just_some_guy_innit It still has some seating.
...But not enough to get it over the minimum 4,000 capacity for this video since its last redevelopment.
The Eleanor Rugby joke was great! Dad jokes done right I say. My fave is Murrayfield and Tynecastle but I'd pref Hibs for reasons...
If you're going to include Myreside for Edinburgh there's lots of similar stadiums you could have included for Glasgow eg Lochburn Park
Stadiums of Greater Manchester pls
What about meadowbank? Athletics & football stadium, twice the host of the commonwealth games
aye more superb scottish stadiums

can you do PSAC stadiums
Temp annual stadium at castle for tattoo & music - 8k seats?
Track on grass at Myreside Stadium?
