Love your vids mate, great info. Personally I'd love to experience life on my own narrowboat, perhaps not so low cost though, travelling the canals and the country would be sweet. Keep if up, and sort them pizzas out lol!
Last time I went canal boating, I saw a guy on his boat that looked like he was struggling tbh. Meaning cooking a tin of baked beans on a fire on the towpath from wood he found. I can imagine that even though this is a very low cost life style, having not a lot of funds would make it a bit of a nitemare. Shame as I soooo want to live like this but im not rich and where I live, im far removed from the canals so I wouldn't know where to start about finding work etc and I reckon I would end up becoming one of these guys scratching around just to eat. Ah well, one can dream. You seem to have it sussed though Dan, good one.
Hi Dan I came across you while looking for an instruction on using canal locks and your video was brilliant. One question on costs , do you have to pay to get rid of toilet waste, on a campsite its marked as a Chemical Disposal Point or CDP. on some sites, it might appear as an Elsan Point. but seeing as we pay for a nights stay its all part of the service so what do you do.
Thanks for another brilliant video Dan, i never get bored watching as they are all so interesting & packed with very useful information. I also find them very inspiring & encouraging as i begin my own plans to travel & live on the water some time in the near future. (-;
Why is that a rip off? When you think there are over 4000 miles of navigable inland waterways in the uk, that all need maintaining, most would think its a bargain.
Stunning scenery!
Brilliant video, Dan, interesting and informative, a bit of scenery, bit of everything; better than telly!
Another excellent video, lots of info and a lot of work from you putting it together. Thanks.
Thanks Dan I am looking for a canal boat for me and my husband at the moment
It's been a year since we saw your first video.. and by coincidence a year since we put out house on the market and started the boat hunt...
Great video as always Dan
100 THUMBS UP ... very informative & educational. Top Notch videography

My canal boat I plan to buy uses £1 per hour of deisel but how does Tilly do?
Is the boat license like a car and you get examined by an examiner on your sailing...

Great vid Dan. When doing the blacking, how much does it cost to put your boat into fry dock?

do you no what the range of the narrowboat is with the beta 25hp engine and its 250 litres tank
When you work something out on a per foot basis does that mean just total length of the boat or total length plus the width of the boat?
What sort of cover does your boat insurance give you?
*****
Too true - a careful reading of the T&C's is required before pitching any sort of claim 8-)
how do u male money???
562 pounds for a small boat license - what a rip-off.
