I read the After the Fall comics as they were published as well as some of the one shots that came out at the time. They were really good from what I remember. Any chance of an in depth look at that series at some point?
I totally wanted to see the Faith the SErie show but I get why it didn't happen. That whole potentials thing always got me becasue i was just talking to someone the other day. They said that anyone who would be a slayer was a slayer so did that mean there was a 2 month old baby somewhere beating the shit outta there mother or even worst being born into this worth already a superhero. As for my man David Boreanaz, do you realize that he hasn't been off tv since buffy ended. he went to his own series Angel, then he became Seeley Booth, and now that man is on Navy Seals. What ever he touches turns to gold
I think Giles was a wasted idea. He had such an interesting background and I think the show could’ve done well if it had been done right, which, sounds like they couldn’t find the right way to do it right. Dollhouse is only 2 seasons but it’s totally worth watching. And it ends well.
The Dawn being in the Animated Show despite not being created in the live show till years later was reused for the Buffy comics. Buffy comics towards the end of that run had the premise that Dawn was remembering the fake memories the monk gave her.
Oh my god, I never knew - thanks for covering this! I‘d have LOVED to see the animated series and Angel movie as well as more of Faith, Giles and Spike 😍
I think Kennedy gets way too much hate for no reason. What was so bad about her? No one can ever really answer that question. They just don't like her because they prefer the incredibly overrated mousy character, Tara.
I’m trying to design a Buffyverse mobile game. I miss the series so much, this is what it has come to. I’m going to learn unity or find friends that can design games. Do something like Marvel Strike Force or Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes, where you collect shards of characters to level up and battle other teams, etc. then I’m gonna email Joss or Disney/Fox, whoever has the rights, these days, the Alpha version and beg him for the rights to do it. Hopefully, someone one who loves Buffy and designing video games reads this lol. I’ll find you one day, Firefly 😙🤌🏻
I would have watched a Faith series. I bet they could have gotten at least 3-4 seasons. Harmony could even show up in an episode or 2. We never actually seen Faith and Harmony interact
They should be a prequel series of Ripper, an anthology series which focuses on a different slayer from the past each season, a Willow The Witch Show AND a show dealing with with 5 international slayers that have to come together to look for a now missing Buffy
Faith spin off was a Tim Minear pitch to Joss. Faith traveling around the country on a motorcycle etc Eliza said she said no because Joss didn't want to run it day to day (I guess the idea was similar to Angel: with Tim running it on a day to day basis and Joss as the big boss without doing it 24/7 like his Buffy days)
Looking back on Buffy season 7 I like it even more now. I always thought it succeeded thematically in being the perfect end, but compared to every final season of shows that have come and gone, it’s even masterpiece-ier. So many shows falter in their final season, even on a thematic level. Buffy ended with her sticking it to the establishment like she always has, but on such bigger level. She rejected the shadowmen that created the slayer and shared her power with every potential. She and the show stayed true to what Buffy was always about and did it without stepping out of bounds. She changed the game and inspired an army. It was perfectly conceived and only just missed being perfectly executed by the smallest of margins. It did all that with 22 episodes a season, before tv grew up and figured itself out, and there is only one or two shows that have a finale as good as Buffy.
I just wish Angel, the original series, had continued on forever and ever. When I'd heard rumors of the show possibly rebooting, I kind of wanted to cry, because Andy Hallett can never return, and without Lorne, it could never be the same.
@@ApeXKillSwitch it's about a shadowy organisation that erases your memory and implants new ones over and over again depending on the needs of the assignment. That's sounds terrible, I know. How it's really well acted, perfectly paced and planed out. It has action, drama, intrigue, twists and turns to keep you hooked. And although it's only 2 seasons and has a very satisfying conclusion. If you like Eliza Dushku (I think I'm spelling that wrong, I apologise) you'll live this.

This spin off about faith I definitely would have watched it could of been up there with the angel spin off! You make her an angel meet backup and do cross overs etc so many good ideas
Can we just agree that they absolutely nailed Once More With Feeling? If you disagree, you have the right to your opinion, and I'll see you in the parking lot after the video.
I *love* 'Once More With Feeling'. It is, hands down, my favourite BtVS episode. The number of times I've watched it while knitting is bordering on ridiculous.
For the Dawn thing in that animated series when she was created the idea was the monks had melded her into the timeline so that it was completely believable to Buffy and friends that she was Buffy’s sister. This means she was always in Buffy up to her introduction point. I believe they actually have a comic story where a flash back shows Dawn as a little kid. So having her in in the animated series would just be keeping with the altered cannon that Joss made.
"It's one of my all time favourite shows" Oh dope, Vee's got my taste. "Which ended up spinning off into one of my favourite shows, Angel" THIS GLORIOUS LAD LIKES ANGEL? Literally my favourite show! Dang I'm glad I found you
I think the Buffy animated series was going to be like the 90’s Sabrina series; based off of the series but more aimed for younger audiences and with no continuity, every episode Is it’s own story. It’s a shame that didn’t get made the art style was so nice.
I would have been all-in on Buffy: The Animated Series.......as a matter of fact, if any of those projects had been done with animation, they would have been just as cool, or even cooler, than the comics. And....... the comic versions could still have been created right along side of them. Plus, with animation, you have so much more potential to use concepts that just wouldn't work in live action. I don't know, I just love cartoons!! "Scooby Dooby Doo!" Thanks for the vid, there were a few things on this list that I hadn't heard of, but had read in the comics, and now I understand why they were in there. Peace & Love, Y'all !!!!
I would love to see a remake, but Sarah is against it. Or a continuation. She could come back as a watcher and still slayer and train the other slayer that is floating about.
I love how After the Fall actually shows exactly what happened after the huge cliffhanger in the series finally. Still weird that they decided to end it like that. The Buffy comics follow up are great too and bat shit crazy. I’m planning to re-read them again as I haven’t caught up with the last few seasons yet. I hope they did a decent job wrapping up the series.
I would have loved a Giles’ origin story. I understand why they couldn’t do a live action because honestly, who could ever measure up to Anthony Head and play a younger Giles? but it’s weird to me how they never (as far as I know) considered the idea at least for a comic or something. I think it would have even more potential than a Willow spin-off. I remember the Giles craze at the time, at least in the teen and pre-teen female population of my corner of the world 😂
I can give Eliza Dushku major props for doing Tru Calling instead. I did watch that when it came out and it showcased her acting abilities as a different type of character. She was smart not to sign on as the Faith series.
On a totally unofficial level, I wrote a fanfiction that also took place just after the Buffy finale. Very bad writing, plus it's in french, but I'm still proud of some ideas I got. It would have been a Xander spin-off. After the finale, all the scoobies member helped Giles to find new slayers around the world and taught them what they are, and how they could help, if they want to, to fight against forces of darkness. Whil in North Africa to find one of them, Xander and Andrew would face a powerful old vampire that has a magical artefact giving him the power to absorb the strength of his victims. But it's a curse item, and Xander will unintentionnally fulfill the curse, thus destroying the vampire, and gaining his power in return. He will then settle in Cleveland (were we know there is another Hellmouth). He will assist at Cordelia's funeral in LA, and get a vision (which is kind of a pretext for a recollection episode) of their story together, waith Cordy's soul by his side, each coming to discoer things they ignore about the other, and finally making real amends and peac to each other. At the end of first season (only 10 épisodes) he will stop his boss to open the Hellmouth, then in the second season, he will go to LA help Angel and co in the big fight we haven't seen at the end of AtS, and took Gunn and Illyria with him. Illyria will eventually vanished, and we discovered that the nothing left of Fred, not even the soul, was just a lie, and Fred's back, He will addopt a li'l blind girl with seeres power and face the titans, escpaed form the Four Hellmouth still active around the world. And I'll never went 'til the end of that story.
@@dylangrayson9190 Well, I was bewildered a moment too... then I understood, cause it's quite obvious : it stands for "Angel the Show", for not confunding it in sentences with Angel as a character.
Haven’t watched yet, but I love the idea of a Giles show! Would also love a Tara & Willow show, where they go on adventures in between season 4 and 5 episodes …along with Ms Kitty-Fantastico and the ghost of Ms Calendar! (These wouldn’t be unimportant adventures, just ones that the rest of the scoobies didn’t know about)
I remember the talk of the Faith spin-off and I wanted it. Tru Calling was a paled in comparison so I didn't last after the pilot. I agree though, it probably would not have been successful for the reasons you stated. Years ago I was reading the post-show comics for both Angel and Buffy and loving them but I fell off so I have no idea what went on after a short while.
I always liked Angel more than Buffy as well. In fact i never watched buffy when it was on the tv. I only ended up watching Angel cause I worked nights and when I got home at round 6 in the morning tnt used to play it from like 4-8 i believe. Everyday it was the only thing on when i got home in the morning so i ended up watching it. It grew on me....then they took it off. I found Buffy on fx i believe and watched to get something with some of the same characters....or tried anyway. The first episode I watched happened to be Superstar and I didn't know it was an alternate reality episode and thought that was the real characters and storyline and it seemed really stupid so I didn't watch any more until a year or two later. Caught a few more episodes and figured out that was a special episode and then it grew on me too. Now I like Buffy as well. Weird how that all works out. It ended up being an aquired taste for me I guess....over time I learned to really appreciate the show. Now I wish I could continue the story in the comics.....for after the fall and buffy comics. Thats a luxury I just don't have though cause if I did I wouldn't be able to pay my power bill for a month or two and I wouldn't have lights to be able to read em and its too hot down in Texas right now to read em outside. Maybe in the winter or fall......then I'll just have to deal with all my food spoiling in the refrigerator😦
An Oz spinoff would have worked i think. we saw him being able to control hes wolf side. what if he also could drain power from it and use it to fight evil. it would be in the buffyverse yet not be another slayer series
Man i miss Buffy it was great, and was fun to watch after school. Got me back in horror a bit, and rewatch my old Universal Monster collection but out of these i’d be down on the animated series as i was on my Cartoon resurgence at that point in Mid to Late Jr.High early High School.
I don’t want to live in a world where Eliza wasn’t Tru, but I would have absolutely love a Faith/Spike spin-off!!! Also Buffy the animated series and what could’ve come from that show hold a special place in my heart! And Kennedy...ugh... Keep the Whedonverse videos coming please!
Nick Mesogianes I do not hate Kennedy because I know why she has been created like this, every nice girl smart or beauty would still have been a weak version of the beloved Tara, and so it would have been even wierder for fans to see that Willow could love any aliexpress version of Tara, so they choose to create a full opposite of Tara as kennedy, shyless, arrogant, hididing her cowardness with loud chat !
@@VenomBroly im fine with the idea of Kennedy being the full opposite of Tara, its a nice touch on paper. But the way she's written and portrayed on TV just bugs me. I never cared much for the character
I honestly liked Kennedy more than some of the other girls; she at least wanted to fight, whereas for example Rona was only complaining, practically about everything. Remember, Anya said to Andrew, when they decide to the hospital: "Kennedy takes over, she isn't afraid to die!" 😅
Hey, Vee, I have a video suggestion. You should do a video on the bizarre series production of and absolutely insane final season of Fox's "Til Death".
It's actually very easy to include Don in the first season. Because from the perspective of the characters she was already there. It's just us - the audience, who has not seen her there. Also, the movie with Spyke, Angel, and Willow would have been so awesome. I always loved the chemistry between these actors and wished that they had more interactions.
I played chaos bleeds on ps2 and loved the fight between Buffy and Ripper. The First had some creativity even read the novel based on the game. Some of the novels were good, like one that brought back Pike from the Buffy movie with Kristy Swanson and Luke Perry. Some of the novels where good others read like they were carbon copy’s of the LJ Smith series who helped make The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and Legacies.
I loooved Tru Calling, and I remember being in school and going on the computer circa 2004/5 and reading on the official website that a Giles/Ripper spin off was coming. or it could have been a a Spike one. I was so excited
Still think they could totally do an animated sequel series or sequel movie where they adapt storylines from the comics in a manner similar to how DC adapts a lot of their popular story arcs into standalone animated movies. Great way to reunite the cast and have them play the younger versions of themselves.
I still want to read the Angel & Faith comics. I'm real upset the Ripper series with Giles didn't get made, I think that would've been a lot of fun to watch. Plus to watch old Buffy characters come back for different epis would've been super cool.

I read the After the Fall comics as they were published as well as some of the one shots that came out at the time. They were really good from what I remember.
Any chance of an in depth look at that series at some point?
“But I digress. I digress...”
that moment totally got me! 🤣
I would have the same reaction. I’m all about that continuity!
I'd pick the Giles spinoff.
Boom studios have a Willow spin-off. It’s pretty decent. Giving her a show would’ve been a good idea.
Buffy comics towards the end of that run had the premise that Dawn was remembering the fake memories the monk gave her.
spike is a HUGE comfort character to me so i would’ve loved to see a spike movie sm grrrrrrr
Love Felicia Day. Wish there would have been a spin off with her and the other be potentials
Why? We got Charlie and she’s 1000 times better on Supernatural
Oh my god, I never knew - thanks for covering this! I‘d have LOVED to see the animated series and Angel movie as well as more of Faith, Giles and Spike 😍
Finally someone who loves angel as much as I do.... if you haven't checked out tpn buffy and angel guided... then what are u even doing with your life
Yo can you never mention Kennedy again? I wanna go back to pretending she never existed
I don't know who the fuck she thought she was but she really got on my nerves during that last tv season
Same, I dislike that bitch
Halfaxa7 🤣🤣🤣
Mark Guerrero so so so so true, if I’d live in this reality and be friend with Buffy, I probably still try to make that Rona be killed
I think Kennedy gets way too much hate for no reason. What was so bad about her? No one can ever really answer that question. They just don't like her because they prefer the incredibly overrated mousy character, Tara.
That's not the actress Gisele Loren in that picture, that's Giselle Loren Lazzarato aka Gigi Gorgeous, a fabulous trans youtube star :-)
The slayers have amazing storylines in the comic series.
Every play the first Buffy game on Xbox?
Surprisingly good.
I would’ve watched the hell out of that Spike/Willow/Illyria movie
I still love the idea of a Buffy animated universe, it could explore alot of ideas
Angel is my favorite too. You have good taste!.
They should be a prequel series of Ripper, an anthology series which focuses on a different slayer from the past each season, a Willow The Witch Show AND a show dealing with with 5 international slayers that have to come together to look for a now missing Buffy
Eliza did start a series with Joss called Dollhouse. She walked away from that as well for Tru Calling.
Buffy & Angel are two of the best written shows I ever watched
Anything Spike related I would've been behind 100%, even the idea of him showing up in a later season of Firefly would've been fantastic.
I just wish Angel, the original series, had continued on forever and ever. When I'd heard rumors of the show possibly rebooting, I kind of wanted to cry, because Andy Hallett can never return, and without Lorne, it could never be the same.
ITS TIME FOR A BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER ANIMATED SERIES OR MOVIE!
#ANIMATED
Dollhouse is really good!!
Please explain my good man,i would like to know whats its about
@@ApeXKillSwitch it's about a shadowy organisation that erases your memory and implants new ones over and over again depending on the needs of the assignment.
@@richard1701able cool imma check it out,i remember FOX running ads for it back in the day,but the ad would never explain anything,it would just have her in a empty room staring off into nothing
@@ApeXKillSwitch to be fair, she does do a lot of that. However I don't think you're going to be disappointed.
Take some advice and be aware of the episode's order. NO SPOILERS! Part 1 of the 2 part final episode is sometimes put at the end of season 1. At least it was when I saw it on TV and got it on dvd.
@@richard1701able oh ok,thanks for the look out, imma start on the show tonight
This spin off about faith I definitely would have watched it could of been up there with the angel spin off!
You make her an angel meet backup and do cross overs etc so many good ideas
Can we just agree that they absolutely nailed Once More With Feeling?
If you disagree, you have the right to your opinion, and I'll see you in the parking lot after the video.
I *love* 'Once More With Feeling'. It is, hands down, my favourite BtVS episode. The number of times I've watched it while knitting is bordering on ridiculous.
Once more with feeling was the ultimate episode for me!!!
Dollhouse was actually a really good show
Dude you are awesome. I've never subscribed so fast in my life.
You should check out Dollhouse - the first season is rough, and I don't think Elizas character ever quite gelled, but it does get good
"It's one of my all time favourite shows" Oh dope, Vee's got my taste.
Spike spinoff with witchy Willow? I'd have loved that the most!
I would've loved to see those two and more of Giles. I'll confess those three will always be my favorites from the Buffyverse.
I would have loved a movie about the whirlwind; Darla, Angel, Dru, and Spike. Just more on their adventures, and general evilness.
love buffy i will re watch it again and again
Are you kidding? I love Willow but Faith is totally my favorite slayer character. I would have loved to see her get her own show!
I remember the Giles craze at the time, at least in the teen and pre-teen female population of my corner of the world 😂
Yo, how awesome was that last episode of Angel? Best series finale I've ever seen.
Why do people abbreviate Angel as AtS? That has always bewildered me… does it stand for Angel the Slayer? Cause he’s not a slayer…
Also, good ideas!
@@dylangrayson9190 Well, I was bewildered a moment too... then I understood, cause it's quite obvious : it stands for "Angel the Show", for not confunding it in sentences with Angel as a character.
Great video man, a treat for us, the Buffy fans
I actually loved Tru Calling and glad she decided to do it wish it lasted longer
Man i miss Buffy it was great, and was fun to watch after school. Got me back in horror a bit, and rewatch my old Universal Monster collection but out of these i’d be down on the animated series as i was on my Cartoon resurgence at that point in Mid to Late Jr.High early High School.
We didnt know the potential slyers. They were rushed.
Seems like comics ended up being the obvious choice of media for Buffy, it was definitely a good fit for the series.
Especially with how often the original series references comic books.
Glad im not the only one who didn't care for Kennedy 😂
But im totally down for that Spike movie. It sounds like such an awesome concept
Nick Mesogianes I guess you don’t go often on facebook buffy groups, the majority of people did ‘t care or even hate kennedy
@@VenomBroly I dont use Facebook all that often anymore. But im glad to hear there's a good Fandom hatred towards that character
All the people who are saying they don't want to read the comics, but want to see all these other ideas of cancelled BtVS project... ??????????
I really wish we had gotten that cartoon
I loooved Tru Calling, and I remember being in school and going on the computer circa 2004/5 and reading on the official website that a Giles/Ripper spin off was coming. or it could have been a a Spike one. I was so excited
That's quite the Mark Hamill impression at the end.
