About the mohair sweater you are wearing... I would put in a lifeline at the base of the neck, like where the ribbing ends and yoke begins, cut the ribbing a couple rows above lifeline and knit a new neck up from the lifeline. I think your sweater is gorgeous and it is a shame you can't wear it comfortably
Or even Just sew It down directly at the Life line pick up by knitting and binding off together with the stitches of the start of the yoke..i would defentely do thks.. cute and sew down..
I was in Norway earlier this month and visited various yarn stores during my stay. I didn't know before that knitting was such an integral part of Norwegian culture. Travelling is always full of exciting new information about a culture.
What a fun discovery for you! I don't think much about it being such an integral part of our culture, but I guess I think less about it because it's what I'm used to. Traveling and discovering other cultures is always interesting!
@@norwegianknitter My perception came from seeing a knitting section in the folk museum in Oslo. There is a knitting museum in Bergen. And there were so many yarn stores. My friends told me that it is quite common to see people knitting everywhere during the winter months.
Love your podcast! Your son is so adorable❤ His pants are working up quickly. Your Levitate wrap looks great. Can't wait to see everything next time. Have a good week❤❤
Thank you🥰❤️ The pants are working up surprisingly quick for them being so long😅 I absolutely love the Levitate Wrap, it's everything I want it to be! Have a good week❤️
Thanks for a lovely relaxing TH-cam. I thoroughly enjoyed your content ❤ I have to say, though, your son at the end made my day! What a gorgeous little human, you must be so proud. Thanks again, ❤
Don’t worry about ripping out the neckline of you4 sweater. I had to knit the opposite way when my son wore holes in his mitts. As it is ribbing, 8 would put a lifeline in just a couple of rows into the ribbing and then cut it off and finish with a lovely bind off or even a rolled edge. It is doing the ribbing in reverse that will mess you up, so cut it down after you put a lifeline in but put that line in as close as you can to the start of the ribbing and do it try to match the ribbing up. That’s my best suggestion.
Your Fern Sweater is so beautiful! Maybe try blocking out the neck to see if you can make it a bit wider and looser before trying anything else? I would love to knit that pattern too but for a turtleneck I would have to use a completely itch-free yarn. Always such a joy to “visit” with you and see all of your inspiring projects, and an appearance from your son is always a bonus!
Thank you! I think blocking will be my first step! I'll do anything to avoid cutting into knitwear😅 I've learned from my mistake, and the only other turtleneck I have is a looser turtleneck in super soft yarn! Makes a work of difference!! My son is so eager to be with me when I'm filming🥰 He wants to make his own podcast and mimics me. It's the cutest, funniest thing😂❤️
The Fern sweater is beautiful. I wonder if you can pick up stitches just below the neck before cutting the turtleneck off and then reknitting the neck a bit wider and shorter. I hope that makes sense.
OMG your son is just soooooo cute. Makes me happy when I get to see him ❤ For your Fern, I am sure fixing the neck would be the best solution. Another option would be to find a super thin turtle neck to wear underneath. Uniqlo has a thin heattech turtleneck. They haven't come back in stock yet here in Canada and I don't even know if they are available in Norway. Would also increase warmth but at least it's not itchy anymore. When it comes to holding conversations I have accepted that I can do nothing but stockinette. I can't even do sleeves in stockinette because I will forget the decreases for sure. Thankfully I love stockinette so I make sure I have something mindless on the needles at all times.
He's just the cutest🥹 I think fixing the neck is the way to go. I just have to gather up some courage first😅 Thanks for the Uniqlo tip! I've never heard about them before, but I'll check it out! I always think I'll be better at multitasking than I actually am🫣 Wonder when I'll learn😂
Great video! Would you consider doing a video about how well different yarn combinations have worn in use? I’d love to try out some Drops yarns but I’m worried that they might pill like crazy…
Thank you! I can do a video on the drops yarns I've used and the different yarn combinations🥰 I can tell you right now that in my experience only Lima, Nepal and Flora have pilled a good amount. Other than that they don't pill much❤️
Hey, for the bottom up sweater use a provisional cast on and then you don’t have to deal with anything. You can just knit back down or castoff anyway you want
Your Fern Sweater is stunning. You could likely cut off the neck and make it more to your liking. You are making great progress with your basket needing finishing. It takes time but will one day be empty. Your son is very patient and I’m sure moreso some days than others. He’s just a little fellow.
Thank you! I think I'll end up cutting the neck and reknitting it! It feels amazing to finally be making progress with weaving in ends! Hopefully, everything will be done before the year ends🤞🏻 He's amazingly patient! Until he's not anymore haha. Just have to learn to roll with the punches🥰
I enjoy dpns too but small cable like that is much more portable and soo Quick to work sleeves and hats.. i am a mom of small children as well and it is also best to have with kids around than dpns as with dpns i am always nervous sts could fall off.. very small cable like for socks are defentely finiky but 25 cm are my favorite to make sleeves with..@@norwegianknitter
That makes a lot of sense! I'm always worried my DPNs will break when I travel with them or when my son plays nearby. I'll see if I can get a 25cm needle to try it!
Cable not needle mind that! Cable of 20 or 25cm plus interchangeable makes It 40cm or so.. perfect for sleeves or such.. if you buy 20cm circular needle It Is the finiky One for socks.. i use knitpro interchangeables.. @norwegianknitter

I agree with this. Put a lifeline in and change what you don't like. If you want to feel more secure, rip a few rows above the lifeline.
Lifeline it is!!
You'll be suprised how fast you fix something that bothers you for so long! This sweater is a work in progress and I want to see it in FO next week 😉
@@dorotaurbanska6654 I'll do my best😅🥰
Love watching you! You expire me with your project ! I have 5-6 projects on the go ! Maybe more lol
Thank you! It's so fun to knit on multiple projects all at once!
enjoyed knitting through your podcast. beutiful projects and yarn choices!
Thank you!

Great job on creating a good habit with weaving in the ends… I think you found a nice balance to catch up the old and keep up on the newer projects 👏
Thank you! I really hope I'll be able to keep it up🥰

Your Fern Sweater is absolutely beautiful 🤍

Thank you! So do I! It deserves to be used!
Love the swleater

For the Willums you could pick up a few stitches and then kitchener stitch 😊👍
Oooo! I really like that idea! I'm going to do that🥰

The front part of the overall is called a "bib" in English
Thank you!! Writing it down ✍️
By the way you should try a 25cm cable so that you dont need to do magic loop neither dpns..
