Thank you for the video ... I love this game! Personally I don't think they should have made this the first Solo scenario ... the nature of the Dragon Hunting makes it not a very good introduction to the game. (Hint: building a Village in a Plains next to a Dragon's starting spot then abandoning it is a good way to lure him out of the Hills, which annoyingly take 3 movement to enter). Also note that in combat, it is possible to win a Tie, if you are on Defense and have a Shield unit. I look forward to any future videos you do on Bloodstones ... Excelsior!
This also reminded me of old-school RTS computer games, which is unique for a board game in my experience. I'm enjoying my time with it so far, very glad to have backed it.
The thing with games that have alternate solo rules, is that said solo rules are never quite as clear as the core rules. Like, in this fiest mission, I just pumped my army first turn, so it had maybe 10 tiles or so, then just marched them over to the dragons and killed them, haha. Sure the dragon ran away, but they just moved right back on tbeir turn cuz they left their village undefended. Feels wrong, but that's what the rules say.
So that is why I have it and my recommendation would be to get it if you like the idea of solving the solo campaign. I say solving because it very much makes you think out of the box in order to win. I think the game is a lot of fun, but if you want a more true to multiplayer experience, you should look at the expansion which will feature a new mode for solo that should be more in that line.
just got it for cost on BGG store! PUMPED! Ill be doing a review on my channel! Im new to reviews and such btw so any CC will be very helpful! @@JohnLaRuffa
Cue my PTSD! As soon as I saw the board and those chits/tiles, I automatically thought of DVG's Field Commander series (Napoleon, Rommel, etc.). Totally despised those games, so this is an easy pass from me. Good video though, like always!

I do agree with you. That first scenario was tough to bet. I finally figured it out, but it was a hard first run. Should have been something simpler.

Yep! No regrets here!
This looks interesting. I will have to look into this.
Interesting that David Turci has worked with Martin Wallace on the solo rules and new solo campaign so this may not the new way to solo….
Right! I got a small sneak preview of what David was working on and it looked really cool!

Seriously considering getting this one but it would only be for solo play.

That is weird. It is nothing like those games.
So you don't like wargames since they primarily use counters. Got it.
@@HeaterCalhoun44 absolutely incorrect. You don’t “got it” and you certainly don’t get it.
