Great video. Colon was a special player to have pitched for as long as he did. His home run will always be one of the great moments in baseball.
He should be in the Hall of Fame. His career story is super unique. His numbers are enough to get on the ballot but not enough for the HOF. Plus he had a PED Suspension. But what he did at his age is insane.

I fucked up not watching baseball until 2022. I missed out on so many players.
I was always slightly disappointed that the Mets bench decided to celebrate his home run with the silent treatment. I felt like the wrong way to celebrate as it took all the momentum out of the celebrations. It was a big moment for a big player.

I can't really argue for letting pitchers hit, but we lost something when we lost the possibility of moments like that.
If Jack Morris is in the Hall
Of Fame then there is no reason Bartolo shouldn’t be. It’s not always about a sexy BR page.
I'm no fan of Morris and would be fine if he had not made the hall but bottom line is he still has slightly better career numbers than Colon and his playoff heroics pushed him over the edge to squeak into the hall. Anyone worse than Morris, even if only barely is not HoF material, at least on the normal ballot process. Maybe, and I mean a BIG maybe by the veterans committee.
He won't ever get in due to PEDs.
