I think if Law found the Calm-Calm Fruit now, he would also go to some lengths to get it. The same way Luffy did with Ace's fruit. Eventhough he wasn't that impressed with the power as a kid.

So in the end nothing cora did mattered and still relied on doffy to find the fruit. So even there when starting to suspect cora betrayed him and trying to get him and his family killed, even then doffy was still saying to cure law right away.
