मसाला भात ये एक महाराष्ट्रियन रेसिपी है, जो अलग-अलग सब्जयों और मसलो के मिश्रण से बनता है !

MASALE BHAAT| RICE RECIPE
Ingredients:
2½ tbsps goda masala
1½ cups kolam rice, soaked and drained
3 tbsps ghee
1 tsp mustard seeds
¼ tsp asafoetida (hing)
2-3 green chillies, slit
½ cup cashewnuts, soaked, drained and halved
4-5 ivy gourd (tendli), vertically sliced
2-3 small brinjals, cut into wedges
3 tbsps frozen green peas
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp jaggery, crumbled
Salt to taste
2 tsps lemon juice
Fresh scraped coconut for garnish
Chopped fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Khamang kakdi to serve
Method
1. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add mustard seeds, asafoetida, green chillies and saute for a few seconds.
2. Add cashew nuts, ivy gourds, brinjals and green peas and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
3. Add turmeric powder, goda masala and saute for 1-2 minutes. Add rice and mix well.
4. Add 3 cups water, jaggery, salt and lemon juice. Mix well, cover and cook for 10-15 minutes or till the rice is cooked completely.
5. Garnish with scraped coconut, chopped coriander and serve hot with khamang kakdi.

Remarkable thing about Masale Bhat is it is cooked WITHOUT onion or garlic.
This dish is a preparation generally cooked on Puja events or such auspicious events when only satvik food is cooked. There are many more such dishes which do not contain onion and garlic but taste superb.

Sanjeev ji plz try once with indrayani rice (type of rice)for masalebhat. It gives village taste. This receipe is also good but our method is very different.

rule 1 : do not use basmati rice for masala bhat.
Either use Surati Kolam or use Wada Kolam or Indrayani rice
Chef Sanjeev Kapoor is a celebrity chef. But doesn’t know how to cook so many dishes from especially the southern region of India. He sometimes behaves as an ambassador of basmati rice. I have heard him saying that khichadi is eaten by people all over India, but the fact is that it is not prepare in the Kerala

Sanjeevji...i have been viewer of your recepees since my teenage..masala bhaat contains ..lots of tej pan, cloves, black pepper, dalchini, whole penauts, elichi...& Goda msaala in large quantity....its feature of masala bhaat. It adds good taste. Your way of exlaination is very easy. Nice to see maharashtrian dish 👍👍👌

Goda masala isase jyada dala jata hai. Rice ka colour isase dark hota hai. Khamang kakdi me tadka bilkulhi nahi dala jata . Maze to yaha dawat basmati rice ki ad jyada lagi
