I have met a lot of very clever individuals over the years but Adrien's verbalisations are scant testimony to the depth of his comprehension - he's a bloody jewel.
So true! Clever, experienced, and no BS to make himself look good like so many do. The knock against him is I don't know what language he speaks... no idea...
Agreed I have a Gardner diesel in my boat and there are less and less people who know all the little tips and tricks t working on them but there is an Irish guy who puts up short but informative videos, everything from what size spanners you need to how to test the fuel system to noting that many of the nuts are numbered so put them back where they came from! Stuff that will be forgotten if it's not saved somewhere.
I’m still amazed by Adriens knowledge on Detroits. He’s simply amazing. Just goes to prove that the best mechanics don’t always show up in clean uniforms and driving a fancy truck with graphics all over them. He’s a down to earth guy that knows his stuff.
That's because he's a mechanic not a technician. Those blokes have no idea what to do unless a computer tells them. It could be on fire and if it's not throwing a code they will say it's fine.

You know it's the most Australian marine mechanic video ever when it ends with two blokes having a cold coopers and shaving their heads. Fantastic video (and channel). So much good knowledge for those of us that also have old steel boats and Detroits.
It is always a pleasure watching and listening to people who love what they are doing. But most of all, know what they are doing. From a Brit, England.
What a great way to end a very dismal year!! Adrian should have a TH-cam Channel...between diesel engines and motorcycles he will probably get a lot of subscribers. It works well when he s on screen explaining to another person how things work or fit together etc...Looking forward to it.
In todays episode Adrian took me down memory lane when i saw the old yellow Diamond Reo parked out the back.when i was 18 i learned to drive a semi in a reo with a 6v53 and a 10sp roadranger..I went on to do many hard miles in the old girl including lightweight road train work with her to the NT.I remember the floor plate used to glow red hot on long pulls because the exh used to be only an inch under the floor so melted boots were pretty common..I built a full tilting front for her and to my knowledge after 40yrs she is still parked in a shed in mackay enjoying her retirement but i can still hear that old gemmy ringing in my ears..lol
Great explanation of timing and valve setting process, that’s the way I was taught 50 years ago and still do today,THANK YOU BOTH for a trip back down memorie lane ......
Adrian reminds me of my dad's freinds when i was growing up. They were all men of few words and highly skilled mechanics. It felt like home to be back in the garage again. Thanks Stu!
HAY ADRIAN !!! START A TH-cam CHANNEL WITH THE EXPERIENCE YOU HAVE WITH DEISEL’S YOU WOULD BE A HIT. And the fact that you don’t mind sharing what you know. I think you would have thousands of followers .
How weird is it that when you guys go in for a close look I find myself leaning forward to my screen. Very informative. As an ex overnighter on the Hume, got to love a GM.
You just gotta love Adrian. He has so much knowledge and skills, the guy is a bloody surgeon when it comes to these engines. I'm a professional truck mechanic and I'm not easily impressed, but this guy is bloody amazing.
That Detroit now revs as crisply as a brand new bank note! Stu has taken over its mantle as old slapper with that peep hole singlet! And Adrian needs a “Genius At Work” sign above his door. I’ll subscribe to his channel for sure. 👍👍🍻
I needed this today, thanks. Great to see two friends working together and learning from each other and having a blast doing it. I hope 2021 is better for everyone on Earth.
Adrian has the natural talent of a good teacher , I could grasp what he was saying about injector timing right away and I have never had my fingers on a diesel.
Awesome videos on the rebuild. Getting Adrien on camera was a blood great idea. What a virtuoso! So much knowing and so well shared. Thank you to both of you. Thanks for keeping the content coming, it has really helped this year.
It would be great to see Adrian and Jennifer go for a run on Renko with you to celebrate the results of all the brilliant work done on the Detroit. Well done everyone.

Happy and Prosperous 2021 to everyone!! Have a lot of respect for the Detroit Diesel and it's history. Adrian is real and knows more than myself and all the mechanics I have been around my entire 75 years!
