I'm a coach-in-training and how to navigate agreement setting has been unclear for me. Your video has made a huge difference in how i feel about this now. Thank you!!🙌
No matter how experienced a coach is, everyone can gain something valuable from watching your videos. Thanks Lyssa! Look forward to learning more and more from you 🧡
@@Coachampion thank you for your very kind words. Here’s a secret… just saying the words is so helpful to me, I get to confirm my thinking and play with ideas. I’m glad my noodling is useful! 😀✨
Super Lyssa! Thank you. I am still training but NOW the conversation makes absolute sense. Being able to have the "map" clearly defines how to partner with the client and not lead the conversation.
I was just talking about Agreement Setting and the links to Trust and Safety on a call this morning. It's so fundamental to coaching. Thank you @MarynReimers for the comment!
@MeikeKrug Yay, I love it when people get clarity. I can tell you that I have had my own journey with this competency and I am meeting it again in new ways every year. :) Thank you for leaving the comment!
Lyssa, you explain everything SO precisely and well!!! You have no idea how much your videos have been helping me during my coaching certification program. Thank you!!
This video has provided so much clarity to the agreement setting phase of the coaching session. I was never sure if I was doing it right. Very helpful. Thanks Lyssa.
@@jennynip2737 I think it’s the most important competency for the actual coaching conversation, beyond its importance in the coaching agreement/contract. I continue to join you in my practice of a thorough Agreement. 😀
Thank you Lyssa for such a great video. I have recently received my coaching certification and this video really resonates with how I approach coaching. As a coach it is the most important thing to explore, with the client, the way can achieve what it is they want to achieve. Strategies are just tools to assist, understanding the client goes such a long way.
Hi @Benskingdom, I agree, strategies are fine, but being in a partnered conversation is a very different thing. I really takes that clarity for the client to name what is important, what would make the conversation successful, and where they believe we need to start exploring. Thank you for the comment! Cheers.
Lyssa, this was super useful for me - very clear, detailed, and with examples that makes it real. Thank you for sharing your experience and expertise so generously :)
You are so very welcome and thank you for the comment. Please let me know if you have any coaching topics that your curious about. And, Happy Coaching @nirmalaramachandra
Lyssa, thanks for the video! I have no doubt that the agreement is a key, still 3.4 is tricky for me as 80% of time I ask a client: "Where do we need to begin exploring?", they answer "I don't know". As if they want me to decide the direction which I don't want to do) I'm just interested if this is the case in your practice. And also thanks for the alternative question "What are the obstacles?", I haven't thought of it in the context of 3.4
@@asonnette it can really be helpful to add one little element to your 3.4 question. I’m assuming you’re clear on the outcome or success measure. Client, “I would be confident to have X difficult conversation with whomever.” Coach, “Where would be important to explore first towards you experiencing more confidence?” Or, something like that. This way the question supports the client to explore what’s between where they are and what they want. Thoughts?
@@LyssadeHart wow, I haven't received the notification for your comment. Thanks for your answer. Sometimes it works and sometimes Client is like "I don't know, if I knew I would try it out, but I don't know". I can't remember the exact example but if the session goes this way it's rarely a good session.
