The plan was to hike the peak of New Mexico(Wheeler Peak) but unfortunately we were unable but Williams Lake alone was worth the trip!

Glad you guys decided to turn back. Safety always first. My husband & I climbed to the top May 30 but it was grueling. The majority of the trail was not visible as it was covered in snow. Many hikers blazed their own trail. As amateurs, we followed their path. There were many slips, falls, sinking knee deep into soft snow and losing our way a few times. Was it worth it? Absolutely! The views are beyond spectacular! Do I recommend? Only when the snow is completely melted. Happy Hiking!
