FLL Submerged Max Points

  • This is a mission compilation, not a shot-in-one-shot full board run including attachment changes. A full board run requires significantly more speed and consistency for the robot and the board members. I plan to upload such a video soon, although it will probably score around 550 points as opposed to 620 from a max points run. If I were to attempt a full run with my current robot, it would likely take about 3 minutes and score about 500 points due to consistency issues.
    Feel free to ask any questions in the comment section, and I will try to answer them.
    Credit to waterflame for the background music (sinking feeling)
    Credit to my friend (the same friend from my last video's description) for being the cameraman.

    That is awesome! Amazing work you guys! I had a similar idea for the research vessel. To make it more consistent, I recommend you should angle the vessel to 35 degrees instead of 120 degrees to the surface as shown in the video. And slowly "slide" it to the latch instead of dropping it.

    • @FLLshenanigans
      @FLLshenanigans  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@GLEMRobotics-db6eh I am not entirely sure as to what you mean by 35 degrees to the surface, but I doubt the attachment would fit in the launch area with the boat like that. Additionally, this mission is already quite consistent, and sliding would probably just make it take longer.

      @@FLLshenanigansI just rewatched the video and noticed that the vessel is latched on to the yellow latch even when it was side ways. I’m sorry I didn’t notice that at first glance. I am glad that this method works consistently. Great job👍

      Try with gears.
      Up and lift.
      simple attachment will do.
      Just have to be goal oriented

    • @FLLshenanigans
      @FLLshenanigans  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For a rookie team with limited parts using ev3 (in my opinion inferior to spike), I have three main recommendations:
      1. Spend a lot of time perfecting the design of the attachment to be as efficient and consistent as possible. For rookie teams, coding is usually a major bottleneck in consistency, so fixing this before the attachment even gets to the coding stage will be a major time saver. It will also give your team valuable experience.
      2: Keep it simple. For a rookie team with little coding experience, a simple attachment will always outperform a complicated one.
      3: Do not designate teammates to either building or coding. Instead, designate them by attachment and mission. (Eg, two people work on one mission, while two people work on another mission) .With two separate building and coding teams, the moment a mission starts to fail, the building team will blame it on the coders for not coding it properly, and the coding team blames it on the builders for building it poorly. It just ends up being a big waste of time and does not look good on your core values.
