  • We have a bit of a Daihatsu history going on.
This is our newest underpriced Daihatsu. A 1999 Cuore.
We just couldn't refuse it. First drive, first impressions, instant love.

Update; Just having driven it for a couple of months, it's actually already a LOT better. Not sure how it was driven, but it got so much more smooth :D

Hi. Thank you for saving this Cuore. Coming from JamesMay video.
I’m working with Daihatsu now and these old model sold in Europe is full of nostalgic. It’s a shame they stop selling in Europe anymore.

I really miss the brand! Daihatsu was always my favourite Japanese underdog

I have a 2002 Cuore here in Melbourne Australia, as my daily car. Very reliable. Daihatsu stopped selling in Australia in 2006, after sales overall of 140,000 approx, including Delta light trucks. Nice video!

This was a great little watch. This Cuore sounds exactly like mine back home in Pakistan it just has a lot more dash😂😂i also have that exact stereo unit in mine never used it. Feels quite weird seeing a LHD one as being from the UK ive never been in a LHD car and mine back in Pakistan is a RHD Pakistan domestic model

I bought this type of Daihatsu Cuore new in the past. Even the best tires have insufficient grip and play in the gearbox they already had when they were new.
The gearbox also screeches as standard. The type of cuore that comes next (L251) is not much better in terms of handling. In the L251, the 4th and 5th gear ratios are much longer, making these cars even more fuel efficient. I now drive a 2007 Daihatsu Trevis, although it is technically identical to the Cuore L251, the handling is a lot better due to the larger rims and slightly wider tires. My Trevis also has the same engine as your cuore L701 (12V twincam EJ-DE)

Haha, did Google recommend this? There are a few more similar videos on my channel. Happy you like it!

Wow good video didn't expect that on such a small channel. Came from the James May racing Kei cars. Love such cool little cars and especially always loved driving "old shitboxes"
It's just so liberating that you don't have to worry about your car. So many great and funny stories to tell.

Happy you like it! People seem to bump into this video a lot. I did car reviews that are way more elaborate (multiple cameras, b-roll, etc.) but for some reason this one surprises people, and that's awesome! Got to love an old shitbox :D.

@@Allan-mf1he I will be selling mine eventually but I am sure exporting it there will be costly. Also wheel on the wrong side 😁😁

Hahaha, I don’t hate new top gear so much! Glad you enjoyed it. There are many car videos on my channel. It’s mostly audio equipment here but there’s quite a long playlist of car stuff. Enjoy!!

Do you get through a lot of suspension components? You seem to have so many speed bumps in NL.

    • @rollingtroll
      @rollingtroll  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

It’s ridiculous. My Volvo 440’s suspension lasted me about 190.000km but yes, there are too many of them. That said, that road I am driving in this video is particularly ridiculous. About 16 in 1.5km

Is that an Alpine CDE-178BT in the Ford? I have one in my V70, until I get a new touch layer for my ILX-700...

The Cuore has a kenwood cd unit. Need to find something usb or even bt for that

@@rollingtroll no, not in the Cuore, but in the Fusion :) I'll have a Parrot MK9200i handsfree kit for sale soon, which can do Bluetooth streaming and MP3 playback off an SD card or a USB flash drive. It has it's own amplifier as well, so you don't even need a head unit for it :)

@@AttilaSVK See other message, above! CDE193BT in the Fusion :).
Smart thing, that parrot. But the shipping alone is already more than I'd spend on a radio for the Cuore :D.

@@rollingtroll Sorry, the first comment didn't show up. Also, I don't think it's a CDE193BT, because the 193 doesn't have a graphical display (which the 178 does - quite a rare feature), and I can clearly see the Bluetooth logo. The button arrangement is the same as on the 178, so I'm pretty sure it's a 178 :)
