Don’t equate an outgoing attitude with correct assertiveness. Which is probably the biggest problem for most people - we think having many words and aggressive nature we are assertive. As well, they typically will assert themselves to the right people at the right time. Dominants continue to press an issue all the time which is not assertive. It’s nagging and confrontational. In short, conscientious personalities - reserved/passive - focus, learni quickly, and practice asserting themselves when they need to in a different, harder to understand way. Dominant personalities typically focus on what’s in front of them, in the future, never looking back and hence, their assertiveness is more aggressive because their fuel is accomplishment.
