      i dont know what deal we have with castore, but the finances are usually mostly an upfront deal with the kit sponsor taking in the money from the kit sales. So buying the kit doesnt essentially give the club anty money given the deal has already been signed.

    Controversies created only by ones who don't want Newcastle to be successful. They didn't change the black & white stripes, so whats the problem with the second/third. All okay to take the money, expensive players, new training ground, new jobs surrounding the club but can't make a secondary kit green & white. Request you all to not give it any wind.

    The third strip looks quite nice and as someone who has lived and worked in the Middle East, Bahrain and Saudi, I find some criticism to be a little bit hypocritical. Yes there are some aspects of their society and governance that I am uncomfortable with, their attitude towards women and other religious and ethnic groups being the uppermost. However, we should always remember it is their country and culture and who are we to tell them what to do and how to live. Colonialism has ended and despite the Americans thinking they can tell the world what to do, whilst usually doing the complete opposite themselves, most logically thinking people agree with self determination and the running of your country how you and the majority of the citizens want not as others say you should. That being said the sponsor could be an area of controversy, many people were not keen on a gambling company sponsoring the shirt, many would not want Playboy or PornHub to sponsor the shirt, obviously as Muslims an alcohol company cannot be a sponsor, if the sponsor is too closely tied to the government/state that will be a problem and could cause issues with the Premier League Rules. Although again it seems that double standards are being applied Man City's sponsor is a State owned Airline, as is Arsenal's main sponsor, Chelsea and Everton have connections to dubious Russian money all have been investigated for breeches of the fair play and financial accounting rules. If the owner cannot sponsor the club how do they get away with it? TBH the new owners are a breath of fresh air and obviously have the best interests of the club in mind, they are not going to do something that will bring the club into disrepute, nor do anything stupid that would alienate the fans such as change the Stadium name! So finally YES I think I would buy the third strip depending on the sponsor the colour scheme looks appealing.

    Great to see all the different shirt on the fans in this video 🙂
    My opinion on the shirt is it brings the Saudi fans together with the newcastle fans sort of a connection
    We wanted the bar changed back to shearers bar .. they done it for us
    They moved the shearer statue for us
    They have done things for the geordie fans n the new shirt is a thing for the Saudi fans ad buy the shirt 100 %
    A trust are owners and what they are doing n it's all for the better of the club n the fans fair play to them along as the home shirt is always black n white the other kits imo can be any colour n style they want 😊

      @Adam Burgess Well as a someone who worked there with many others from the North East you have that captive market as many are still there also the Local people will be more interested in NUFC now that there is a connection with their country. As one Saudi Fan said in the video you could probably sell a million shirts in Saudi and that is big money.

    • @malcolmholder3149
      @malcolmholder3149 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Adam Burgess What has Qatar 22 got to do with NUFC being owned by a Private Investment Company that just happens to derive most of it income from the sale of oil of the state they are registered in as an investment vehicle for the future when oil is no longer the main income for that country. Whether we like it or not the decision was made to give the World Cup first to Russia and then to Qatar, if you have a beef then it should be with FIFA not the Saudi investment company that is now NUFC owners, They didn't bribe officials to get the club which is still highly suspected in the two bids that won the World Cup.

    Great video Eddie.
    A few opinions.
    It's not possible these days to seperate the sport from the politics. PIF have shares in Disney, Facebook, BP and now Nintendo so the term 'sportswashing' is ridiculous since the UK government has billion pound arms deals with the middle East. I see the business sense inmaking the third white strip and I like it but probably don't need to buy it.
    Lastly I highly doubt we would be sponsored by the oil and gas company.

    I Think the 3rd strip is marketed towards the middle East market to promote Newcastle United to Arabian fans....since Manchester city, Liverpool and Chelsea are also known marketing brands...it's a commercial move...to get middle East football fans familiar with Newcastle as everyone knows Liverpool, Manchester United and city as well as Chelsea

People are going to be looking for anything to throw at us so we should do our best to give them as little as possible. I dont have a problem with the shirt but it would have been better next year or the year after once all this human rights stuff settles down. The hypocrisy surrounding this takeover is off the scale when you see the numerous businesses around the world PIF are involved with from Social Media, Disney, other sports and its closeness not only to the UK Government but the Royal Family. I personally would not purchase the second or 3rd strip's. The club because of ownership will be keeping legions of the chattering classes busily occupied with righteous indignation, its their right to complain, give an opinion its also our right to support our team, even if some of us may have certain reservations, PSG are owned by QATAR nothing more to add.

This shirt is targeted to the middle east, absolutely and lets not deny that but lets not deny the amount of legitimate money we can get from these shirt sales in a market which is probably untouched. This sort of practice has been seen in football before, Ji Sung Park for Man utd in the far east to drum up interest and sell shirts. If we want to make more, to buy more, to become more successful, we'll have to do this level of business. Sh*tty but clever.
