Find yourself a tennis ball, start there. Once you can get that down, move to a volleyball or soccer ball, then on to a basketball once you can get those down
GREAT VIDEO. I've seen a ton of jump videos, and this is the first one to mention the triangle. Next leg day, I will practice purposely closing the triangle, with an explosive hip hinge.
I am a great one leg jumper but when it comes to two I can't elevate that high,do you have an email where I can send you a video of me attempting to jump off 2 so you can tell me where am I wrong because I am playing high school basketball and It is important for me that on the court I can jump high enough that I can't be blocked, thank you! :)
Thank you! I tore it 6 months ago but I have been set back a lot with some tough patellar tendinitis so right now my main goal is to get back and be ready by this summer. Late May early June preferably
Tay, it's going to vary for every athlete based on speed, height, condition / power, etc. The best approach is to test different take off points by marking them with some easy-to-peel tape, or record your jump on video to see if you're taking off to early or too late
hey adam, So I will try this tips today, yet today I jumped my highest I ever have because of the tips you gave in another video. So I'm hoping I can get even higher now. before I used your tips I was touching just below the rom and now I touched the rom with the joint in my fingers. ;D
It's going to vary from athlete to athlete, as we're all built differently! It will also depend on your goal and how many inches you need to dunk, grab a rebound, block a shot, even grab a pass or hit a volleyball (if not for basketball)
Hey coach, without a ball I can easily get my wrist to the rim but when I try 2 foot jumping with the ball it's like I can barely reach the rim at all. Any tips?
there are so many technique for jumping, i have already seen offset plant technique and this closing the triangle technique, so, what technique should i use?
You should review, practice and implement both until you being to see results. All of our bodies are different, and our job as athletes is to know the body, and figure out the best method(s) of training to support our goals
Hey man, you're wondering about recovery? Here’s a few pointers to incorporate that will help, and remember to consume at least 20 grams of protein within 20 minutes after finishing your workout/practice/game/or scrimmage! 1) Be sure to stay hydrated. Drink lots of water 2) Eat clean. Limit Starchy Carbs and Refined Sugars / Junk Food. Consume lots of clean protein, vegetables, and fruit 3) Make sure you’re stretching everyday and warming up/cooling down after each workout, training session, or game 4) Ice any sore areas a few times per day, and immediately after activity That’s our suggestion for you. You need to take care of your body. It’s a machine and needs care and maintenance sometimes as well!
Thanks Jeremy, you should talk to your physician or find an adult to help you research solutions. Unfortunately, we aren't able to provide medical related advice I would start here: www.google.com/webhp?hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi6rOLc_LDTAhVFllQKHVyhDOkQPAgD#hl=en&q=patellar+tendonitis
awesome concept, but isn't more an opening the triangle rather than closing it? I mean, if you go lower then the triangle is in fact getting smaller, and going up the triangle start getting bigger, so "opening" it, or ripping it apart rather than closing it
Hey Alvaro! Think of it as flattening the triangle. When you go lower you create the triangle... then when you go up you start to flatten the triangle until (hopefully) there is no more triangle left when you toe-off!
I know I can grab the rim and my hand gets inches over the rim, but my problem is I don't know where to jump or the right timing. Every time I try to dunk or even just grab the rim I can't even grab the rim even though my hand gets higher before
I was shocked to read how NBA and NFL pros focus more on rapidly descending than on the take off when jumping. Read how & why here: tinyurl.com/VerticalJumpNBATrick
