  • Early 80’s smart watch by Seiko. Super cool collectible model that Mimo scored a few new old stock. At $425 these are for the real collectors I would have to say.

Also watched it during the pandemic. Became a watch-collector. Now i'm at the very bottom of this rabbit-hole. Wouldn't recommend anyone to start collecting watches. Would definitely do it again.

I used to own the UC-2000 back in the 1980s which was a grey version of the Data-2000 and if I recall correctly, you can adjust the contrast of the LCD to make it easier to read.

Hit transmit. Turn on the keyboard. Press shift & ctrl key and the screen contrast will reduce

I had this as a kid and used it to cheat on spelling tests and...*gulp-sigh...even Bible verse quizzes on Fridays. :0
Thanks for a fun walk down memory lane! Great video.

Thanks to finding all your amazing Square GShock videos I decided to get my first one and bought the GW-S5600. So far I love it for its weight, look and feel. Sorry this comment is off topic but keep up the good work, I really enjoy your videos.

Just got one UC-2000 and UC-2100 NOS in the box a week ago. Even have the optional printer uc-2200 in the box. Did just finish replacing the battery. Works great. I paid $99 for both.
I won’t recommend people paying the $425 for them. As it not that great as a watch, plus I get them all the time pretty much NOS for under $200 with the extras at times. I paid close up the data 2000 for $50 with no bids and was in the box as well. My last find was the 32mb Casio mp3 Watch for $75. The seller claim used, it wasn’t never used and original tape sealed the accessories and box wasn’t gone though and not a mark was brand new. He admitted to only have it on display.
The point is wait it out, don’t over pay for this stuff as then people will hoard this stuff just to resell at a much higher price, when they paid pretty much nothing for it.

That's a great find. Where do u get ur watches. Ebay is way too overpriced..

    • @thetechgenie7374
      @thetechgenie7374 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@Mhonlumo1 Yep at time sellers ask way to much trying to get as much as they can for something they likely paid 5 to 10 bucks at a thrift store, or garage sale. I hate those type of sellers, but can't blame them at the same time.
I actually got it on eBay but waited till one pop up as I have my search results sent to email, so if someone list one I get a email automatically and able to have a better chance of getting it, or snipe it if it's a auction, so others won't know I am bidding till last second, therefore not starting a bid war. Some of my best finds were on eBay and Craigslist as found new items that I collect for 5 bucks at times. Just have to have patience is key. Thrift store and garage/estate sales you rarely will find stuff like this due to you have to go to a lot of them regularly then you may get lucky, but not good when looking for specific stuff and working.
Those so call professional eBay sellers I stay far away from. As they likely paid pretty much nothing for them, or hoarding the stuff. Not going to enable them, so they can hoard the stuff while people that actually want the stuff to play with, or collect get screw over. You know those seller by name at times as they go under for example garage flip, or thrift store hunter, or etc. They also buy return lots and don't bother to test the stuff and try to sell it as new stuff. Plus they don't tell you this, but they get most of their stuff by just bidding on it and hoarding it if it a valuable collectable. I just learn to play the game, I could literally write a book on so call professional eBay sellers.
The real professionals are the guys that repair and do restoration on the stuff, not the sellers just flipping the stuff to make a quick buck. To make matter worst, some will pretend to have service the stuff stealing wording from real techs to get higher price for the stuff and jerryrigged the stuff, or not done anything to it at all, or do what we engineers/techs refer to as a "Windex Job".

Agreed. I saw an Casio CFX-200 on TH-cam a few years ago. Super collectible watch with prices around 1000 dollars. I really wanted this watch. every now and then i went on ebay and searched for it. Nearly gave up hope to ever find it under 500 dollars. Bought it for 150 last week. it really paid off to be patient

There's a used data-3000 on Ebay listed for $900. Insane. Yours is in vastly better condition (obviously). These NOS discoveries always make me wonder who is storing all this ancient merchandise and where. Rental/warehouse space is expensive. Who has money to burn to store obsolete electronics for decades?

    • @noobkin997

I definitely couldn't pay $900 but I feel like as far as watches go that's not that much
