With "Ruins", LORD OF THE LOST do not only deliver their - believe it or not - eighth music video for the #6 chart success album Thornstar, they also show how to use off days on tour in a sensible way. The video for "Ruins" was directed during the Thornstar-Tour on a free day in Guadalajara, Mexico. There couldn't have been a more suitable place than the cradle and legacy of the past high culture of the Aztecs to frame this song.

I love how each music video has it's own unique style of makeup
I swear someone with more artistic knowledge than me could probably talk for hours about the purposeful, meticulous, and undeniably viscerally meaningful artistic expression in each of their videos, from the makeup (Loreley is still my favorite) to just the entire set's look and feel. I can't draw a stick figure to save my life but I can still feel the raw emotions they are trying to convey through the visual, it is hopeful, angry, sad, forelonging, desperate, a little giddy at times, and on and on through the gamut , but ALWAYS aware, and ALWAYS breathtaking! The music is amazing on its own, the visuals for me just make it a whole elevated experience.

this band knows how to write melodies that get lost in symphonic harmony.. so much so, after you finish one of their songs.. you remember the vocals distinct from the music..
It's not my favorite song, but I loved everything, the solitude of the ruins with all green behind, the makeup so dark as if they were lost souls, the light changes, I don't know maybe it's because I love them, and because I'm Mexican lol thanks for this gift

These guys rock, Chris is extremely talented, way under rated if you ask me (in the united states). You should see them perform in German, with other artists like Dero or the guys from Swiss + Die Andern 666 tanz mit dem teufel.
