This was super fun to explore. They really should have customized the game more with that unique aesthetic like reskinning the weapons and first person hands.
While I noticed that the picture of the cats were different, it still felt like a goldec video, so I didnt question it before your outro. Good job with the rebrand
Remember, This Counter Strike has Visual Novel of its own called "White Memories". T'was made by Romancework and published by Bandai. Pretty fun flash game If you ask me. It's like a continuation of this game.
I've played it and "unofficially" translated it and at least for what I understand the visual novel is just "there" in the lore's timeline. It can easily be before, in or after whatever you choose to call "The game's canon". Something like the normal CS maps where it's hard to know when stuff happens or even who wins or loses at the end. For example is cannon that de_cbble was bombed because in de_chateau it is mentioned that the T's won and are trying to bomb other castle. Like, in CS:Neo v1 there is both "de_forest" and "de_forest2" but just like in "de_dust" and "de_dust2" there's no knowledge of which one is after which. At least for me it is more of a "Expansion" which involves you way more into the game and also lets you "simulate" FPS gameplay inside a Visual Novel, which is crazy.
6:54 First one is the Half-Life 1 Long Jump Module. Rest are, indeed, weapons from Condition Zero and Deleted Scenes (not surprising if NEO was using CZ as a basis). The Shield is in 1.6 and CZ and CZDS, LAW and M60 are in CZDS.
The video quality is soooo good! One of the best ones I've seen speaking about this topic. Concise but not short, informative but not long, very practical to show it up for people who has never seen it before. And so, as always in my comments about this game, I'll comment some trivia related to what's been shown. 1) 0:03 The third row's footage is from CS:Neo, but the second version from August 2005, which is actually accurate to what's said in 3:28. That was clever. 2) 0:54 The footage shown is a Counter Strike's clone called "CrossFire", interesingly the video showcase their version of "de_cache" called "Refinery". 3) 1:11 That's correct, the machine "Namco System N2" didn't only allowed CS:Neo to be played on but other games. Those include: - Animal Kaiser: The King of Animal (A fighting game where you had to insert a card and you could battle against feral animals). - Mobile Suit Gundam: Bonds of the Battlefield 1 and 2 (Your typical mecha's shooter arcade). - MotoGP DX (Not much to say). - Wangan Midnight: Maximum Tune 3 (Your typical racing game). And the most important of all without counting CS:Neo... - "New Space Order", a real-time strategy arcade game where we battle against spaceships. Long story short, the game released on February 2007 and added a lot of content to the game with crazy lore (Even crazier to what was shown in 1:33) and characters. Which also had their own Flash Visual novel! Yeah, as CSNEO: White Memories (4:15), though this one could be played inside the web. But this one was also closed around the same time of CS:Neo on January 2019. By the way, the shown gameplay on 1:14 is from a game called "Phantasy Star Online" from 2001 and made by SEGA. Just to say, nothing related to those above mentioned. 4) 1:39 "C.S.F" is an acronym for "Cosmopolitan Special Forces" (NEO just stands for "NEO Corporation Monopolice", no acronyms in there for some reason, but if you want it to have some they would be "N.C.M". But it sounds worse that just NEO, doesn't it?). 5) 3:50 At the left side of the screen you can see a radar, this one looks similar to what's shown in "CS:1.6", but that's only an issue the TeknoParrot emulator has. The original game and footage (As shown very briefly in 9:40) had an actual image of the top-down view of the map which rotated depending on where you were. You can see the actual images inside the files, though some of them are low-quality (Maybe they were ported from the first version or they didn't mind that because the radar couldn't be changed). 6) 4:15 This is the original opening scene from the visual novel in the first chapter called "First Contact". Though this only appears in the first chapter and it doesn't open the game. The game opens with Maki on the floor been rescued and losing her memories (That's the main point for the name of the Visual Novel, she doesn't remember who she is). Speaking of which, it was released on May 2005, and the playable version of the 7th chapter "Truth" (An important one btw...) is lost-media. Though there's one video of someone playing it and screenshots of what's said, so at least is not lost in time what happened inside. And yeah, nobody has fully implemented a playable English version or any language just to say, though I've been able to translate it, but not something playable. 7) 4:40 The low quality video of an sniper seems to be a highlight, but it's actually a scene with cropped background buildings of the map "neo_03collision" / "Warehouse", in bombsite's B pit from the second version of the game. 8) 5:04 The cat said "ばか", also transcribed as "Baka", if you've ever seen anime you'd be used to hear this famous insult. A funny detail. 9) 6:26 Some gameplay shown in the video comes from "DeZolance" stream called "CS NEO with Goldec". Including this mission which they both lasted 13 minutes to complete it, and pretty much because they were a duo hehe. I got some time ago a score of 34,150 on 2m 30.60s alone. Definitively harder than what some people think it is, even more when you don't know the map layout. 10) 6:44 What's said is actually correct, they are not robots, neither mechas but actual Cyborgs. The NEO corporation used Nanomachines to control people's brains and emotions + enchancing their abilities. This is better explain on White Memories. 11) 7:27 It's actually not just inside the files, but inside the game in the Training mode as shown in 6:15 where it is above e20 "Downtown" and is called "Old Laboratory". Yeah, it's basically the "as_" gamemode, but the map is way trickier than you'd expect. It has a lot of angles you can even explode some parts by pressing a button. A very fun and casual map. 12) 7:53 The pictures shown are from the designer "Yoshio Sugiura", and are pure concepts, those are not found inside the game. 13) 9:18 It's not the fourth map, but the nineth as the map is called "neo_09collision". The grinder is not in B site but rather on Middle closer to Bombsite A than B (I think). And yeah, I agree with the 9:29 point. For example on "e20"/"Downtown" (9:12) in the same place where he jumps he can also get to a roof and basically eliminate the C.S.F. team with at least 3 people boosting each-other (Maybe a feature for the NEO so the map isn't so unbalanced, though I see it more as a joke thing). 14) 9:41 As mentioned in the name those were "Clan" wars, meaning, tournaments against clans, which you could create inside the game. They were so important to the game that they even created their own websites where they could talk about the game or their matches against other clans. Sadly some of these are lost in time. Now, some highlights. 3:14 * It's as in "Chew", not as in "Character", but is understandable * 3:58 Daaaaaamn! Noscope Headshot! 7:14 Yep, those are some sick bunny hopping, at least for this game. Don't expect it to be see it all over the place. 10:00 The emulator doesn't allow you to have all of them by default so you must put a console command with the exact skin so you can have it. With commands you could also add individual parts to these as shown at the right side of the screen on 10:08. 12:19 Yeeeees! It looks sooo cuute!!! Omg, I can't wait to see it all rigged! Thank you for reading all of this. If you have any other question or you want to add more just let me know below :D

Kinda sad to see the original dog company pics gone, but the new ones are just as good, and that rising line to Japan transition is so cool god damn🔥🔥🔥
Not gonna lie, CS: Neo looks and feels like a fever dream of a game. Especially those futuristic player models, while carrying not-so futuristic weapons. It's amazing how this was before it's time in Japan where at the time MMOs dominated most internet cafes. I hope Valve gets the chance to bring CS NEO to steam if Namco is willing to do a deal.

I was expecting the game to be way too weird but it actually seems pretty fun
great video, great narrating
Can't believe TH-cam made a Counter Strike Neo reference by hiding this video from me!
Really love to see this side of Counter Strike. I really reminds me of a mix of Counter Strike and Combat Arms.
It's amazing how this was before it's time in Japan where at the time MMOs dominated most internet cafes. I hope Valve gets the chance to bring CS NEO to steam if Namco is willing to do a deal.
Lovee your videos keep posting ❤
