tbh. I like it. gives ppl fast access to shows & other media. photos usually aren’t too bad either. would be cool if they added designer interviews n allowed them to give further insight outside of publisher pieces.
I think it’s good for people who are trying to gain quick access to collection looks, review/details over the overall theme of the show and sometimes the actual runway video (if it’s posted)
international students pay more because they are most likely not going to be working in the UK after uni, which means the government won't be able to collect any taxes from them in the future. They can afford making uni cheaper for home students as they know the money will go back into them eventually when we pay taxes.
Also, the person’s family is more likely to have been paying taxes for years, whereas an international student/their family has likely never paid into the system.
As a former fashyun biznis student, I found Vogue Runway to be helpful when I was tasked to analyze current trends and try to predict future trends (with the help of WGSN ofc). Also, it helped inspire me on my final project in inspiring me with design selection with my collection. That's about it I guess.
Vogue runway is useless when it comes to reviews, but getting quick content and organized all in one platform helps. For reviews & analysis, better not to rely on it
thank you so much for this video, it was really informative! and I loved the point about fashion social media mainly focussing on 5 big houses and not covering new emerging designers - it really frustrates me! They deserve more of a spotlight, Chanel does not need more coverage on social media
back up the content with sources that are not directly financially tied to the source. The Wall Street Journal has a rule that they are not compensated by the designers, stylists, etc. That really makes a difference.
I just want to add to the question of gate-keeping : a lot of stealing of ideas goes on too, I can imagine that this plays a subconscious role in the gate-keeping.
Prada is in Riders Republic, an outdoor X-treme video game...... It's safe to say high fashion in games is now the new Meta.....and yes brands have been in games before but it's always a subtle cameo, this, this is in your face.
If you don't subscribe to the idea of good taste, do you believe in something being objectively good for example? Or for that matter having any objective properties maybe except for its physical form. Like you can say this garment is blue or has a rough texture, but how can any meaningful value be applied to these properties if your not just saying "this is what I like", therefore being subjective and down to taste. I am really interested in your approach here because the "there is no good taste" take really resonates with me, however I am still interested in engaging in fashion conversation and not just resolving every argument with "well, I guess our tastes are different"
I think its similar to how in comedy there is an objective aspect to humor but what makes you laugh is subjective. there are design principles that apply across different fields which can be objectively observed, but whether it resonates is subjective
Armour and fashion always influenced each other. Slim cut clothes, wearing close to the body, (who were glvery hard to make for a tailor) became popular in europe at the sane time as full olate armour for example. The theory goes taht tailoring made such big strides at the time because the clothes had to fit under the armour. Or the other way around later in renaissance when there were copieces in armour and on everyday clothes because it was supposed to look good. Armour all over the world was always also representative. It was a sign of wealth and power so it was obviously fashion too. To anser yout other question. No historian would ever be a fashion expert unknowingly, because in history you always have to see the connections.
It’s only good for the people who can’t go to the actual shows and fashion journalist to write on. Vogue and fashion haven’t seriously connected to fashion in years more so what’s on trend.

Many thanks for the clarification

it's so heartwarming to see this channel grow
19:14-20:47 appreciate it, finally someone talks about it. There are too many creative "youngstars" instead of focusing on the same old brands

This is honestly one of your best video, Ayo! This really shows how far your fashion understanding comes after all these channel years.
my god you were so spot on with your answers. i especially loved the point you made about gatekeeping due to insecurity!!
Gatekeepers are the worst not only in fashion though literally in everything... lol
this video's quality is better than my eyesight

who are some good fashion youtubers that you like ?
What other free sources are available other than the vogue app and TH-cam
we eating !!!
How to get the show note ?
Is the vogue runway app free to use? They ask to open an account but I don't know if should you pay afterwards for a vogue subscription or not?
It should be free, try the phone app if the website isn't working. I do have an account though but it never asks me to sign in.
would armour come under fashion? If so would some historians unknowingly fashion experts?

Wouldn't foreigners pay more for school because they (their parents) don't participate to it via their taxes?

Brass is naturally antibacterial and durable.
Ok, that's your spin on it?, lol
