Thanks Kim for showing me that 'Earth' can include almost anything. I struggle with my 'narrow-minded' creativity so seeing your interpretation of the subjects is really helpful and inspiring. Thank-You. Stu. NZ
Got to Scotland the first of September, immediately got sick., was on a bus tour, had to take a couple of days off. Hope to do it again someday without the bus or the illness.
Another great video these last images were amazing! I agree about just getting out it does help much more than people realise and I know this from experience too, thank you for Sharing Kim 😊
I was hoping to find another of your videos! Those were/are some very nice shots! The castle, the birds all around, the perfect light... so glad you stayed long enough to catch it!
Thanks again Kim for sharing your experience..... great video & results you captured....yes I don't understand why more people aren't out & around your locations.... your body needs vitamin D from the sun & fresh air to keep you healthy.... take care... cheers from Australia 😀
Great video Kim. I was just adding more images to the challenge and reviewing the entries. You have done a wonderful job of inspiring some wonderful photographers to take some amazing shots! Thanks so much for being an awesome inspiration. I would love to come to Scotland to see the wonderous sights and maybe take a workshop with you.
Lovely vlog thanks. I spent the whole of August in Aberdeenshire (following a lot of your previous vlog locations thanks) but there was very little good conditions although a fantastic place to take in nature especially around Slains. You are lucky to have such a quiet area to live. I am in the beautiful lake district but it is only in December and January I can have the early mornings to myself. Great shot to end with.
I just went and did some shooting today of a beaver swamp. My daughter wanted to go to a department store near there so it worked out well. I told her and my wife we could stop for pictures first, because you know, the light. I took about 25 shots. It's literally off a main highway and people stop here often. Then when we went to the department store I told the wife, I think we should go back because it was very bright and she said sounds good. A half hour later I took another 20 or so shots. The sun had gone down quite a bit, so the foreground, blocked by trees, was covered in shadow while the middle and background are a bit blown out. Not to extensive though. You really need a gray day though to bring out the mood of these swamps. Hauntingly beautiful in the right even light. Live and learn. And of course now I'm just waiting for the next gray day. I live in New England, so grey days are almost the norm. The swamps beavers create are fascinating. Love being outdoors again with a camera.
I hear that, we get "leaf peepers" in the middle of the day who drive slow and stop in the road to lean out the window with their phones but nobody actually seems to get out in nature.
Great video and Beautiful light. Hope to get out taking pics again very soon but fracturing my right wrist put paid to the last 4 weeks! I enjoy looking out for your videos for inspiration. Thank you 😊
Hi Kim, I've just found your channel and have subscribed, great videos and I love your enthusiasm! I live just a few miles from Slains and have photography it many times, as you say it's difficult to get something different from the norm, with it being so close to the edge of the cliffs you can't get a good shot from the front, maybe I need to invest in a drone! Look forward to more of your videos.
Awesome video as always Kim. Love the castle! The only problem with me and the cold is I have Raynaud's Syndrome and my fingers and toes get cold so bad but hoping to be able to get out and take pictures though. I'm enjoying the photo challenge series even though I just started on the Earth one so hoping to do more.
Thank you Lynn. I can totally relate. I have very bad circulation in my hands and feet too. Can be so painful at this time of year. Always striving to find solutions not to stop me getting out. Not always easy I know but I hope you can find something that works for you. Enjoy the challenge 🙂 Got a week left to do the Earth one and then another will be announced 😃
Hi Kim, great video as always. May I ask which model Benro tripod you used here please? Mt Benro carbon Rhino struggles sometimes with a heavy camera in windy conditions so looking to upgrade.
Certainly Nick - it's the Benro Tortoise. The biggest one (if I remember there's 3 sizes). Fantastic tripod! Doesn't have a central collum if you'd like to have one but it's a very solid tripod 😃
Certainly - it's the Benro Tortoise. I'm releasing a video on Tuesday about what to look for/consider before you buy a tripod. Might be some good tips for you before you decide on which one to go for. Personally, I absolutely love my Benro! Best one I've had to date.
Kim That's why I'm going to Yosemite in a couple of weeks if I went in August there would possibly have been up to one million people in Yosemite Valley with miles long traffic jams and one year advanced reservations to find a place to stay
Nice pictures Kim. In the field were you on a public footpath? You were on land that is a part of someone business 'and a very important one if you want to eat every day' most people would walk around the edge of the field so as not to do damage. You wouldn't like it if agricultural equipment ran over your equipment. I realize that this was currently a stubble field but do act responsibly. Also you will not see hay bales in cereal fields, they will have been Straw bales.
Of course Robert. I would never walk through a field when the crop had not been cut. Having been brought up in the countryside I'm very mindful of this. The only time I ever walk through fields used for this type of farming is now, when the bales are there and before the next crop are sown. I would never cause any damage to crops
Did you see any keep out signs. Maybe farmer doesn't care about visitors stomping through field at the moment a field not growing crops. I didnt hear her say she didn't have permission.
Perfect light. Very lucky with the flock. Beautiful, Kim. Thankyou for the video.
Thank you Rich

Many people just don't like the cold damp or even cold dry fall weather. Beautiful photos of the castle though.

So lovely to hear you spent August in the area. We certainly are lucky to have places so quiet out with the summer. Thank you for your kind words.
Nice video. Thank you. The mental health component took this from 'yes I watched it' to 'Yes, I like this; worth a thumbs up'.
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed 🙂
Something I really hope to get able to do in the future 🤞 both British and Scottish castles (ruins).

You can still getup early as winter approaches and do astro shots

Never heard the term "leaf peeper" before! Sad they don't get out to properly enjoy the benefits

Crazy!!
Kim, I am from Nebraska in the US. What crop was grown in that field?
