    I grew up listening to Elvis, my parents always had his music playing. I was only 17 when he passed away and my deepest regret is never having been able to attend one of his concerts. I have a total obsession with this man, lol. I love his live performances so much because his personality shines through. He was such a jokester, he loved his abundances and fans and you can clearly see that. I hope you continue to share his video's, he has music in every genre. His gospel music is absolutely beautiful and will give you goosebumps. His smile could light up an entire room.

    He was known for his sideburns. He drove a truck fresh out of high school and he said he copied that look from other truck drivers. You young man are a delight to watch. At 80 I love Elvis like i was 14. Thank you.

    Great reaction. Elvis owes his flexibility to his practice of karate. I admit that when I first found this video, I must have watched it like 20 times on that same day. Nobody makes music with the huge bands, backup singers, and orchestra like this anymore.

    • @carolhayar3037
      @carolhayar3037 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Robert -- so true, so true re: the lack of orchestras -- nothing like that "big band" sound; all there is now are a mess of guitars & keyboards -- so much musicality lacking w-out some strings, horns, a couple of great backup singers -- that makes such a difference; but they're busy w-laser lights & smoke & a lot of yelling

  • @stevedahlberg8680
    @stevedahlberg8680 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Man, I just have to say, that was a really fun reaction. I could just see the delight in your eyes, and it's so weird to think that it was so long ago and there was no technology I mean this was just freaking totally live.
    And he would go in those incredibly deep core-strength slow-motion lunges which makes my knees hurt to even look at, lol, and when he's winded yeah he's not joking, although it's hilarious when he overplays it there near the end and then pops back up and gives it the final stretch you know, but he is always winding himself.
    If you go even back to some of his 1950s stuff black-and-white on television, he's winded at the end, because he always gave it so much. And he was quite the athlete, he really was.

    Just barely into it but ...
    Hey buddy, new to this I mean to your channel but I did just subscribe and hit the notification Bell, but I came across it cuz it put a prompt up in my feed for Elvis If I Can Dream, the Martin Luther King tribute thing which is probably one of the greatest performances of all time. Well I started to watch it or I actually didn't even start, I couldn't really tell anything from playlist and say just went to videos and I realized that this one was older than If I Can Dream and there are a couple others in there like Love Me Tender oh, so I don't know if this is your first Elvis reaction or not.
    I would rather just start watching from the very first one but it's hard to figure out sometimes on TH-cam so I just went with this one and it's such an iconic performance and we are barely into it, but I must tell you I'm enjoying it.
    But I will say this, you just now asked this question, how did he get his beard like that and was it fake or not. Well first of all it's not fake at all and second of all it's not a beard, it's called sideburns. And so right during this time, the cutting-edge for men's hairstyles at least in this kind of celebrity world but really also just for a regular normal people seriously, which was this like 1972 I think, I would have been about in third grade, laugh. And so I didn't have the ability to grow sideburns yet, laugh.
    Because, coming out of the 1950s and 1960s really until the late 60s, everything has been so conservative, just look up on TH-cam and episode of the very popular 1950s black-and-white TV show, Leave it to Beaver which will show you how horrible and straight to culture was back then but on the other hand that's just the way it was, that itself was an evolution from earlier times.
    But even when people started in the mid-60s especially in bands to start to grow their hair out a little bit from being super short and conservative, it was seen as rebellious and of course the more that caught on, people grew long hair and so forth, but Elvis was kind of in-between, he wasn't being cutting-edge like hippies or anything like that, but on the other hand he grew those big sideburns and had the big hair and he'd always been that way and there's nothing fake about it at all. It was just kind of a style at the time seriously. And if you go back and look at his ship from the 1950s and black and white on television appearances, he first got famous at 20 years old. And you will see that he's extremely clean shaven with short sideburns but he push the boundary back then with having really good oil hair in a big poppa door that got messy and he did dance moves and acted like I hate to say it but I don't know there was a racist backlash to him and they called him the n-word because they thought that he was corrupting the standard social Norm of white culture with black stuff whatever that means. And it was crazy. And he didn't give a fuck at all.
    That's the environment he was raised in and he communicated it with his platform to white audiences and many of them loved it and ultimately almost everybody loved it. So he went through all that bullshit.
    And now I'm ready to continue on with thereaction! Lol. Sorry orry for the long tangent but I just want to let you know I am engaging with your channel.

    New subscriber. Great reaction. Suggestion not to overlook 1972 Hampton Roads concert -- go to th-cam.com/video/YzLKBG7ghFE/w-d-xo.html & pay close attention to the very start of the video because Elvis called out the song “Please Release Me” but the band began playing “I Can’t Stop Loving You” - he didn’t stop them, he just went right into the song; but then he walked over to his glass of water, picked it up & playfully threw it at Glen @ piano -- this is an energetic, powerhouse performance & hear how his voice got a little richer & a little deeper than it was in 1970. Thanks for this.
