This is the only boy group that I stan right now. ONEWE occupies the nebulous space between idol group and k-band and I think that's what makes their music interesting and unique. They actually self-produce and Kanghyun, the guitarist, writes most of their songs. At some point you should check out their cover songs because ONEWE has this amazing ability to take a song and make it entirely their own. I think you're right about the drums. Harin, the drummer, uses both regular and electronic drums based on need. It's also possible that Dongmyeong used his keyboard to do some of the percussion at the beginning.
Yes! Ok I can see that they straddle between kband and idol group. Their aesthetic is so different from the other band I've been getting into, Day6. What cover do you suggest????
Omg, the best kpop band for me. Check out their covers too, their performance of "Payphone" and "Something just like this" are what got me into them. As for their songs, my personal faves are "Regulus", "Rain to be", "Aurora" and "Veronica" 😊😊
Oh, you are definitely in for a wiod ride with these guys... i swear rbw doesn't only focus on vocals with their groups but also finds artists who constantly want to change up their sounds, not stick to one genre or style. For onewe, a lot of that seems to depend on who wrote (or arranged, for covers) the songs... also, while you definitely should check out all their original songs, don't skip the covers, esp for songs you know...
I love these guys. They are so talented. In my opinion I think bands don't get as much recognition as they deserve. They are not the typical K-Pop group with complex choreography. The industry has gotten away from the beauty and creativity of a live band with live vocals.
I'm finding myself wanting to learn more about kbands, since it aligns with music I listened to a lot when I was younger! The bands have amazing vocals!!
"Parting" is the song that drew me into ONEWE and got me to check out all their other songs! I like that they have a lot of variety, but I know that isn't always everyone's cup of tea. I appreciate that you said you needed another listen on your own to kind of digest the song some more. Some songs are just like that. I really enjoy their music for that. Looking forward to when you listen to "Regulus" too. These two songs are kind of similar, and they both make references to the stars/galaxies/etc. Also, if you listen to their songs from the official channel, there should be subtitles!! (For some reason, RBW is good about putting subs up right away for Oneus and Onewe. *cries in moomoo and plory*)
@@WatchwithSandee Oh yeah, their covers are great! They really take the original song and totally remake it into a new style. Goes to show their talents! They also sometimes do additional versions. “Parting” has a special Chuseok version where the instrumental is a bit toned down and a little bit more traditional (as traditional as you can get with these instruments, anyway lol), and I quite love it. th-cam.com/video/0DIERpQg-24/w-d-xo.html
I love that they are a band too. I watched their version of something at the palace in their outfits. It was called the Twaikwondo version. It was stunning. Sorry can't think of the name of it but I loved it and want to see and hear more
I think you might actually be talking about Oneus' "Lit (Taekwondo version)"! Oneus and Onewe are actually brother groups (groups both under RBW), but they're different from each other. :) Oneus is more like idols, and Onewe are kband. But interestingly, there's twins split between Oneus and Onewe lol.
I do love onewe. I think End of Spring is actually my favorite. It is just such a fun song. The MV is a huge dance party including Oneus, Purple Kiss, and Alexa in the crowd.
I want to say I made huge error. This is OneWe and I got confused with another group called ONEUS. I am so sorry. I will be more careful in the future. I am new to both groups but will get to know both better.
They have a unique take on music and aren't your typical rock band but you were more confused than I expected. It'll be interesting to see whether you're going to like them or decide they're not for you.
@@WatchwithSandee Their covers are very creative. They usually re-imagine the song completely, like Mamamoo's Hip, Hwasa's Twit or (G)I-dle's Latata and they opened my eyes with Oh My Girl's Dolphin, a song that's not my style. There's a fun vid of Hwasa reacting to their Twit cover with the boys on Onewe's yt channel.
They're making regular appearance on Kiss the Radio and their cover of STAYC "ASAP" was just impressive!! Plus it was live so you could hear all their instruments and vocals live as well! They're incredible.
@@fuk2433 Thanks. I've caught a few of them but not that one. Didn't make it past the first minute of the ASAP MV (another gg that's not my style) so it will be interesting to see what they do with it.
@@kudgeond755 another gg song I didn't like but they made it work is aespa's Black Mamba! They did it on their concert and it's just 🔥 th-cam.com/video/btNZWTF7OzQ/w-d-xo.html (Heard they rearranged it in 40 minutes, insane!)

So many others mentioning amazing covers!! I'll need to check them out!
