Most band 6 positions ask for a presentation, i got a band 6 secondment for 6 months, failed another band 6 permanent interview and then got offered a permanent band 6 today. For this interview I read a lot of relevant literature on clinical governance, NHS values, the specific trust’s ambitions and strategic plans for next couple of years. They may not ask ask these exact questions but very similar questions like these will be asked, therefore watching this video prompted me to tap into my experiences and situations that I had faced as a band 5 and band 6. I used them in my answers.
Thank you so much Richard, I passed my band 6 interview today. I learnt so much from watching your videos. I have been in this job as a band 5 only for months, your video helped so much.
Thank you so much… Everything you have said has come up when I have spoken to other current band 6 nurses. My interview’s next week so I will be diligently studying until then, using your video as a frame of reference 👍🏾😊

Hi Richard, I have an interview for a Band 6 Tissue Viability Nurse tomorrow. Do you have any specific advice relevant to that job role? I have downloaded the full list of interview questions and answers. Thank you
Remember the saying, there's no shortcut to getting where you want to be well here's one example of how to 'get there quick'. So, good luck if you take this 'quick fix path. Yeah, good luck with that.. Or you could have faith in what you've studied and believIng in yourself. You will get where you want to be through determination and trust in what you know - not by using someone else's scripts.
The 'scripts' are designed to help people learn and structure their own answers. People gain knowledge in life by learning, which is obviously what this video helps people to do.
For a Stroke Specialist Nurse interview, expect questions on clinical expertise in stroke care, patient assessment, and rehabilitation planning. Be ready to discuss specific protocols, teamwork in emergency situations, and communication skills with patients and families. They may also ask about your experience with multidisciplinary collaboration and managing complex cases. Show empathy, precision, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
