Now Ford and Chevy are not much better. Even Toyota is starting to slip. I dont know where these quality issues will end but if they dont people are screwed. Buy an expensive car and it wont run so you rent a car and then your insurance goes up. So it is an ever escalating problem with poor quality.

      Agreed.
I grew up a huge Mopar/ Chryco fan. Bought a number of Chrysler cars since the 80's.
I even liked their smaller company ( compared to the other big 3 and Japanese makers) with a big heart ideal.
Of the numerous Chryco cars that I owned, I owned a 1988 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z and loved everything about it. Regret getting rid of it.
I loved the general styling of most Chryco motor vehicles. Of course I love their 60's muscle cars too. The Dodge Charger and Plymouth Barracuda the most. But my favorite car of all time of all manufacturers us the Dodge Viper, especially the various Coupe models over the years.
Chryco under Daimler was the last true era. FCA had its moment's but you could see the writing on the wall by the time of the Fiat merger... The fact that Italy/Frenchie Stellantis owns Chryco is likely it's impending death. For that I feel sad 😢

More than half of them refused to return and had some pretty vulgar responses. The manager behind the layoff later told me in confidence that he'd made a huge mistake.

A used Toyota or Honda have a greater resale value for a reason, the market doesn't lie. Also notice that I said on my dad's 200 maintenance was regularly done to keep the warranty & the transmission still always had issues.

About the Camry muffler, If the original one is fine and not showing too many cracks or rust, try to find a shop that welds a new flange (many are just too lazy to do it or they'd rather sell you a muffler) because you'll keep changing Walker lifetime mufflers every two years! And a factory muffler with a new flange might outlast a few replacements! The more expensive replacement mufflers have a lifetime warranty but still a hassle to replace them every two years!
Some Camrys like the 2001 I used to have had exhaust pipes with a welded band over them (for sound reduction I guess) that would rust out but their mufflers were quite good! The weak spots are the flexible pipes and exhaust pipes between the catalytic converter and the muffler. The flanges can also rust pretty badly and need to be replaced.
