The answer to the lack of border surveillance is simple. Simply move all the barracks to those areas. Why having barracks in the cities when the border needs manning by our military. Stationing our soldiers at the post would put our army to good use. There is no point having 3 barracks all in Por Moresby !! Wake up GoPNG..

It is appropriate to maintain a POM base. One should not place ones forces so they might be cut off, leaving the rest of the country blank. PNGDF will serve well, should, god forbid, the country become occupied. Its duty to extract a high toll in hit and run ops.
I hold a view, that PNGDF should have a rotational force into AUS, NZ for ongoing training and experience. I'd like PNDF to experience mechanized force ops; the Abrams etc. It is similarly appropriate for the ongoing US & PNGDF training and interaction to continue. (US Marine Cops do have a couple of PNG'eans serving).
PNG would do well to seek and attract its youngest and brightest for service into cyber warfare, the best of the best of these candidates could have the opportunity to join or collaborate with the US Space force on issues developing.

PNGDF simply Aid the West Papua (OPM) rebels with ammunition and they will protect the border against Indonesia.

That why indonesia deploy 45.000 troops that make PNG parliament get shocked, because PNGDF only have 8000 personel XD
And we also build new military base on west papua, suddenly NZ and Australia become friendly LOL
We have enough with you all

@@kosakata8632 -Your troop numbers do not concern us. Australia is well capable of handling itself against any regional aggressor. You should be more concerned with an assertive China encroaching your northern area.
PNGDF is a capable force, and that ability expands. She, as with other western allies like India, the US, GB and France, Chile train together for interoperability.

Please government must invest more in military service .. PNG military power is still low.. Government must increase our military power by buying new land , air and sea transport and also creating more military schools training and also equip many young boys into the force.. also increase the military budget and provide good accommodation for our service woman and man who are patrolling at the border and working around PNG..

Mate you have shit roads that can’t even connect your two largest cities, and I don’t think Indonesia is gonna invade you. Why do you need more military power? They would probably end up bullying the general populace and be very corrupt.

@@windoak2113 4X4 done in the 70's, over the top! A road will be built. PNG will move on fine, its shape improves. Anti corruption measures, vital.

PNG Government needs priority in Military first. Rebulit PNG DF image. Better equip with proper equipment and we need to upgrade our Forces to 100, 000 plus not cheap under 2000..

Building roads along with this border patrol like other nations is better than foot tracks. PNG Government more illegal trades from these both Countries (PNG & Indonesia.
