I actually agreed with the guy $325 is far from cheap that was his point he didn’t show hate there was no name calling. Maybe leave the internet drama in your head today😂😂
I like the Jimny more then the new release but i like the old C24 even better, just adding some soldering wire inside the wheels makes it 50% more capable. Thanks for the video!
I was having this issue with a WPL that a customer brought in to me for repair. It turns out that replacing the cheapo battery pack it comes with, with a better 2S lipo fixed the cut out problem. My guess is that the cheap batteries they come with have too much voltage sag causing the LVC to kick in constantly when the motor is under load.
yeah, that controler looks exactly like the one that came with the D12, and they cut out exactly like that if you try to drift it in a gryppy surface if you keep at it long enought. I like wpl's shells a lot and usualy go crazy with the mechanical parts. Like a blue C24 with MN axles and metal suspension for stability and flex, or a red one retrofited to leaf suspension and a tamiya 540 for 4wd drifts. They are cars to thinker with more than anything else for me, and I love them for that.
Just keep doing what you do, Tom. You can not please 100% of the people 100% of the time. If they want Cheap... Here in the States, we have a store called Walmart. They can get a RC for as little as 19.99 !
Let's be real, RC is a well-to-do man's game. A decent build, on average, is going to run you $600 and up. Anything less than that technically qualifies as cheap, and you should expect to get what you paid for. That said, I appreciate the existence of WPL. They make a decent entry point to get people into RC and give them a taste.
It's actually gone nuts over the past 2 yrs. To give you an idea, when the Toyato first came out, it was around $199 CDN. Now? It's the same price as the Tamiya F250. I picked up a 144001 for $79 CDN on amazon in 2021 and it's now $179 and up. The RGT pioneer used to be around $229 CDN now it's $500 and up.
I have 12 WPL’s (some of them still not built) but stopped buying them because by the time you upgrade all the electronics and metal parts you’ve spent enough to get something like a 1/10 Losi 22s when they’re on sale for $149 etc. If they would at minimum put some oil shocks, metal parts and just use the Kit tires for everything it would help. I still like them and enjoy building them it’s just the prices have gone up considerably but they’re still the same toy/hobbyish grade RC’s.
The FCX24 Blazer was such a game changer for me. Affordable and easy to take everywhere. Also a ton of little accessories and upgrades already available. It’s been a fun little garden crawler. Now I’ve been eyeing something bigger and it’s not so bad when it’s a gradual increase in price as opposed to immediately dropping 500 bones (worms)
Have the same cut out problem with my C24-1 and found it it's the little plastic connectors on the board that shake loose. I had to just gut it and replaced with an exhobby 2 in 1 receiver/esc

It seems like the control is much better than the original c54, maybe I'll get another WPL soon.
These WPLs are great toys for those who are looking to invest a bit of extra money and tinker with the upgrades. Playing with these isnt that much fun as rebuilding them on the weekends to make suspension tweaks and imrovements. Then somethink breaks and the endless cycle repeats. Think these are ideal as cheapest beginner crawlers, especially in RTR form. This one is definitely a buy. But im going to wait until they work out these cutting out issues after the first batch is sold out everywhere for a bit. Absolutely loved building my c24. This will be a great addition to the fleet.
I'm just starting out getting into rc crawlers and your videos have been a big help I haven't even bought myself one yet just doing some good studying and pricing before I purchase one
Wpl make some amazing looking vehicles, but performance of the electronics is an after thought, I have a few and other than sitting on a shelf and lookin phat I dont drive them, ever.
I've always thought WPL were surprising. I have 3. 2 are c24's and a d12. Which reminds me, I need to fish them out and have another look. Thanks for sharing this one mate.
I think some people just don't get the idea that prices can be relative. Also, cheap can mean not costing a lot and/or not great quality. I am looking forward to seeing that giant truck going btw. You do really know your driving spots too, this one looks pretty at this time of year.
I put a 1060 with a a flysky radio and 3s lipo it’s like night and day the jimny with stock electronics was like a Walmart toy now it has potential kept the stock motor and servo in it and it’s working well. Although I’m a little worried about the gears with the added speed to the truck
Except for the occasional cut out the little truck perform well. It's truly a cheap crawler. I found it interesting for a lot of the WPL crawlers you can get same day deliver from Amazon in the U.S. for no extra charge. There's more to the determination of cheap than just the new price. If you buy an r/c car and it's breaking all the time, it's not good value no matter what the price. The RGT you tested for a year was worth the cost. I think Redcat is a company that have some cheap crawlers that give good value.
@@tomley_rc That's too bad. I watched one review of one of its cheapest crawlers, the Danchee Ridgerunner. It's a very basic and flexible crawler. It's 1/10 with locked diffs. standard steering, four wheel steering, crab steering, rear wheel steering, dual motors and portal axles. It's price is $169. The dual motor eliminates the transmission, The reviewer is usually tough on the cars/trucks he tests. He liked it I would like to see your opinion of it.

Good Game..good game...
This hobby *CAN* be cheap. you just have to do some digging around. If not then things are gonna accumulate price
People don't seem to understand its a relative term 😅
You watch, the ones moaning about the last one not being cheap in their misguided opinion will say this is too cheap and nasty 😂
