We aren't even mentioning his broken inting strat. A 5k+ hp champ has no right to have that much pressure and damage. But not the only tank with this type of issue.
I think we're forgetting Yasuo and Yone are both midlaners that are very difficult for sion to deal with, and can rush bork, plus Tristana mid has been very popular lately...but yes vs certain picks it can be strong for sure.

Here’s what’s broken in League right now… champs that do dmg to towers with their ults (sion voli, etc) and skill blocking walls… like yasuo wind wall , samira W , they can outright block ultimate abilities , if they only blocked basic spells wouldn’t be as broken
I feel like something that didnt get mentioned in the video which is absolutely a factor is that many of sion's matchups in toplane are unplayable, however in midlane people dont know how to abuse sion early, and in lots of cases dont have the tools to abuse him
Just finished up a game of sion mid. Hard to lose lane.
As a toplaner main who constantly thinks about training jungle, Sion is very annoying mostly because it's hard to snowball against him, you're at best ahead but it's gonna be hard to make him useless
With that tryhard mindset of only find fun when enemies isn't having fun is a really toxic mindset you can have XD.

To win as top it's not enough to be ahead, you need to make the enemy laner completely useless and starve him of every resource possible.
Some people have fun climbing the ladder and just getting better at the game. Some people enjoy the game and some people just enjoy the competition.
@@tudi1999 Not starve a sion isn't made you lose the game, it's just that you have no long game plan further than laning phase if your enemies not hard lose lane. Also that your happiness simply to fight enemies who is worse than you and doesn't want to play if the enemies is equal. You are basically playing a cheese that if enemies doesn't lose lane you lose the game.
with the general reduction of item stats. it just means champions that where early stat sticks. are not even more brick shit houses. because while they use to scale poorly... everyone scales poorly now, so it doesn't matter anymore

Also another reason why this "wholesome tank" is so overpowered is because all of his counters (except Darius) were nerfed directly/indirectly.

I love sion. I really do. But heartsteel should do 2-4% enemy max hp damage and nothing else. The stacking alone is op.
Qhwn i get autofilled mid i just go tank udyr, few points in turtle, to deny poke and just shut down the enemy laner, then r for wave clear. If the enemy laner leaves lane you push in and get plates. Set up ganks to feed your jungler. Havent lost with it, but i only get autofilled mid once every now and then.

As a sion main I have always said its not just his HP that is a Issue its his Damage and mana costs. If they just nerfed his damage scaling he might be fine.

Encountered mid sion but luckily I play viktor and I can clear the wave as fast as he can also so I just ignore him and just roam and permaganked bot
You can counter sion by crippling his teammates trust me its not worth it to just lane and try to outrade a sion
No I saw this coming tbh, with doran getting buffed and second wind doran having been strong before, where as no one expects the flex on mid and the fact that your w is great for blocking things, I saw this coming from a mile away.
Cho also feels unkillable in lane right now. (mid)
I play Urgot Top. A Sion did this against me. I went like 27 and 3 and while I struggled, I was able to heavily cancel him due to my throw delaying him from doing tower dmg. And my other cc helped ofc.
That was my old build back when Titanic had the AA reset and since its coming back he only getting stronger
As someone who recently started learning midlane, this frightens me.
At this point, I'm certain Riot is already toying with the idea of giving Sion a mini-rework
they honestly should, he's absurd when played correctly. i got like a 65% winrate on sion lmao, from both playing AD and full tank sion, it's legit ELO inflation
Sion is also my highest win rate champion, and I don't even main him.
I hope they do, he has a very toxic playstyle

As a emerald 1 cho'gath/Tahm Kench mid/top main. I haven't lost lane to sion mid or top in 2 years
My highest HP I got as Cho is 13k with 25 ult stacks.

Happen to me one game, but he was top and my top waking didn’t know how to deal with it.
Eventually got so much hp that it become impossible for me to kill.

Tanks abusing on assassins isn’t new stuff, but i might confirm that sion is also a big natural flat damage bag, meaning he can easily outdamage them mid or late game

Played against it, team flamed me that sion was at our inhib turret at like 14 minutes even tho I spam pinged cause I couldnt keep up with his waveclear and he just perma pashed while Kayn full cleared all game.
Yeah dude basically have 10k hp and still do dmg and he always split push suicide to get towers. Can't rlly stop him due to his passive too 😂
I played against a sion mid yesterday as vel'koz mid with first strike. He ended up 1/20 and I got like 200 gold in the laning phase just by the rune and got him banned afterward XD
I play senna, poke early, harass mid, over power late. I dont aim to kill, but i aim to annoy. With her infi scale damage, and my infi scale HP from over grow and and immortal, i get tanky and deal a bunch of damage
He may be but the thing is that heartsteal makes him that op, they should remove the item

Only ADCs that can actually kill him are Kog and Vayne.
I mean this works for 90% of top laners mid which is why bruisers mid became a thing. Early game items and runes for top laners make it so poke damage from mages is irrelevant. Once they get their tank mythic item they are unkillable for most mages.

Sion have the lowest HP lv 1 than any tank yet early game he is this strong
I'm running singed mid. It's so fucking funny. I clear a wave and recall, the enemy mages just hit me and watch me recall with maybe 30% of my hp left while they have to catch the wave under turret. No opportunity to roam nothing, it's so fucking fun
Play set into sion and take grasp. Ult sion into his team and one shot his entire team
When the base champ is already op and the passive clears your wave.
Heartsteel was the worst item ever to be introduced to the game... it's like they asked themselves, "what if we broke warmogs armor?"
it scaled slow which helped prevent too many champs from abusing it, but i see a Vladimir run it for the infinite scaling alongside grasp... other than adc's with percent health damage or natural health busters you can not deal with him, then there is Sion who is self explanatory and then there is also Cho and this is why Sett is so strong for proplay he lives off this, not counting the original tank buster Trundle among other picks which are now in the meta again because tanks are rearing their head for this season
As a sion main the reason i not went mid is mainly bc i know it will just being too easy for me and not gonna to be fun.
1/17 sion won the game against my team yesterday, he buily hullbreaker first and suicided mid but got plates and tower damage each time. we still couldnt kill him before he got demolish off from his zombie too and he destroyed 6 towers

Good pick against him is malzahar. Malza has easy wave clear and can cancel Sion's axe with his q. Also Liandris is good against high hp champs and demonic embrace is great as second item while other matches makes him go rilay or zhonyas. At early, malza has no damage, with a little help from jungler it can be an easy gank to get ahead and deny this horrible pick. Gl hf.

But asol can do % damage so sion mid against asol would be ussles but if asol get banned mid laner just go with varus ap this is not top lane only mele champion rule doesnt work on this lane
