One thing to add is the included maintenance that comes with the BMW. I've owned both and having to pay around $500 every time I brought it in for maintenance on the Mercedes vs $0 for the BMW adds to the bottom dollar for cost to own in the first 3 years.
It’s an incredibly overpriced piece of 💩you will find nothing in the price range feeling cheaper than this as well as looking cheap. You wouldn’t be giving such praise if it didn’t have a BMW badge, but a KIA. German fanboys are so delusional
Yup.. X3 screams “single, no kids, lives at home or in an apartment with no garage, low to mid 600’s credit score, purchased with 10%+ apr or put money down on a lease like a clown, unbearable douchebag” 😂😂😂😂😂
The interior quality of the bmw is the biggest disappointment of the vehicle. Not in the way it’s built but the materials use. The X3 has an interior look of a new Kia. Yes it has those interactive lights. It is one of the more “affordable” bmws in the lineup but it’s still a bmw and you’d expect it to have a nicer interior than a non luxury crossover, and unfortunately bmw did not succeed at that. It’s too in line with the electric models and gives the interior a cheaper look and feel than it is. If someone wants an X3 they’re better off getting the M50 with the Inline 6. That’s the only winning feature I believe it has.

I owned several Mercedes vehicles for 16 years from 2008 to 2024. Nowadays there is a significant lack of quality, design aesthetic, and luxury in Mercedes vehicles. I can’t stand how they redesigned the interior of the GLC 300. It looks cheap and disjointed. The large iPad-like screen, plastic fake metal door handles, glossy piano black trim, pinstripe trim, and more are all eyesores. So disappointing. The dealership experience has been awful too, especially the service department. (Naples FL, Bonita Springs FL, and especially Bloomfield Hills MI.) I recently sold my 2019 Mercedes GLC 300 and purchased a 2025 Genesis GV70 2.5T Sport Prestige. My GV70 is so much more luxurious and high quality than any Mercedes I’ve ever owned, and it has a superbly quiet interior. I’ve never driven a Mercedes anywhere near as quiet as my GV70. Mercedes has A LOT of catching up to do.
Benz has an average exterior design, just bland. Im not sold on either interior, but the Benz with the round vents reminds me of the Chevy Blazer. The wood on the dash is a nice touch. The BMW interior, on the other hand, comes across to techy with little style. I do prefer the wheel style on the BMW. I think the Genesis GV70 has a far better interior and exterior styling than either of these. Genesis interiors really are on another level.
Stop selling out . I have not seen you give the glc more points on interior . The new x3 is just a plastic bucket that tries to ask for a luxury car price for a Kia interior and somehow that’s better than glc ??
I like the look of the new BMW X3 I think is stylish and I also like the look of the new Mercedes-Benz GLC but I think I would have to go with the X3 because of the designs and everything I like the designs BMWs are known to be sporty so BMW but I'm going to say this because way too much but I would take the BMW over the GLC anytime but they cost too much you can get a fully loaded 2020 5 genesis GV70 3.5 sport prestige it'll have everything you ever wanted and it'll still won't be in the 70s so Kudos to BMW and Mercedes
Good luck dealing with the Hyundai dealership. Most Genesis do not have their own dealership. Huge mistake IMHO and short sighted. You won’t build the brand by having people trying to buy a luxury vehicle at the worst dealers in America-Hyundai and Kia.
I mean the old X3 was better than the updated GLC so I'm gonna say X3 is gonna win this even if I have some issues aesthetically. New X3 is ugly as shit but still built better with better materials and much better drivetrains.
Great review! I had a 2020 X3 M40i and currently have both a 23 X3M and a 22 GLC43. I thought the new 23+ GLC interior was cheapened compared to the 22 but the exterior still looked good. But now that the new X3 is out I think the new GLC looks better inside and out. The new X3 looks goofy on the outside and severely cheapened on the inside. Looks like BMW is going for like an EV look or something. The only area where the BMW still wins is that the new M50 still gets a B58. The new GLC43 is watered down to a 4-cylinder from the previous Biturbo V6.
@@Spikejou Both are great. The 43 is more refined, as in it's feels and looks more luxurious and a little more comfortable than the M40i. But the 43 also has some build quality issues(like all Mercedes) in terms of rattly and creaky plastics. It's less raw than the M40i in terms of power delivery and driving dynamics. It's also less roomy than the M40i. On the inside, the GLC feels like a compact sedan on stilts. The M40i is luxurious too but it's still "the ultimate driving machine". Power delivery and driving experience is much more enjoyable in the M40i with the B58. Build quality is solid, inside and out. When I traded in the M40i after 3 years, not a single creak or rattle from the interior. It's also roomier with more storage and feels more like a SUV with a taller roof but it still drives like a car with the M suspension. It also gets better gas mileage than the 43, despite having more power, being faster and being slightly bigger I'll also mention that I had a 2018 Macan S and 21 SQ5 as well. The Macan S was also fun to drive but super cramped, poor gas mileage and had reliability issues. The SQ5 was pretty boring to drive and undeserving of the "S" badge. Interior was okay, nice seats but you can really see the "VW" in it. Storage volume was good but missing a lot of "small things" that annoyed me like no center stack storage area(only in the armrest) for like your keys, glasses, wallet etc. and no round cutouts in the door for like water bottles etc. So I've had all the cars in this class and the X3 is by far my favorite. As you can tell, I went up to the X3M.

The Audi had a soft-touch rubber dash while the others had nice stitched leather dashes. Audi also had soft touch rubber door sills while the others had nice leather with stitched detail. And below the dash(like around the center stack bottom of the doors, glove box etc, it was all hard, textured plastic. In the BMW, MB and Porsche it was at least leatherette or soft-touch rubber in those areas. My big issue with the SQ5 was that it had the same ZF transmission as the M40i but was just wayyy watered down or tuned for comfort. It was just so sleepy. Granted the M40i had about 35 more horsepower but the transmission was night and day. Extremely rowdy and aggressive in the M40i. At times I was afraid it wasn't going to shift on it's own and hit the paddle to avoid red line. The SQ5 would shift early even in Dynamic(sport). Of course this doesn't matter to everyone but I like driving so it matters to me. Yes, the Macan S was fun but just felt like a terrible "SUV". The interior design is luxurious and aesthetically pleasing. But again, feel free to look but god forbid you touch anything! Press on the center stack, creaaak. And he S58 has been proven super reliable. Any issues would be from somewhere other than the engine. Just buy the one YOU like.
Will also mention that our 43 has the AMG performance exhaust optioned. Sounds amazing. The SQ5 isn't much for audible enjoyment. Also another thing that irked me quite a bit about the Audi was(I already mentioned the lack of storage space up-front in the car) the design of the center stack. So the cup holders were right in front of the armrest. When you opened the armrest, it was covered by the wireless phone charging tray and you would have to slide it forward to reveal the storage inside the armrest. So what happens when you're driving alone with 2 cups in the cup holders, make a turn and all of a sudden the sun is shining directly in your face and your sun glasses are in the center armrest storage because there's no other storage ? Well, you can't get them out of armrest storage because the wireless charging tray is blocking. And you can slide the charging tray forward because the cups in the cup holder are blocking. So you'd need a passenger or 3 hands to be able to get your glasses out.🤣 I could actually go on about how un-thoughtfully designed that SQ5 interior was. All things you don't think about on a test drive and only realized once you've owned it.

Normally I would go for the BMW every time. But with the new BMW X3 there is only one comment I can make, and that is that it is butt ugly, and this more so from the front view. Also looking at the dash set up in both, again just shouts at BMW as to what have they done with this new model. It is awful. That's it for me, no more German cars, the reliable ones are ugly (X3), or just old fashioned (Q5), or just unreliable (GLC). Back to a Subaru Outback for me now and hello to reliability and functionality.
Maybe I'm weird, but the lack of physical climate controls is a dealbreaker for me. I understand that it's easier and cheaper to make, but I hate that the industry is heading towards this.

I’m a phat cake factory having ebony queen so you know I’m all about that Benz and Bimmer life boo boo!!! But I like the Benz better out of these two boo!!! X3 is just fugly on the inside and outside!!! Too much plastic and weird designs! The Benz looks classier boo boo!!!!
The looks alone would put me off the BMW, just plain ugly!
I think the GLC looks way better. However, both interiors are way too cheap looking/feeling for this price point and these companies, Mercedes just does a better job of hiding it.
New X3 looks like a Capibara.
true, now every time I see one on the road I will see the Capibara in it. Thanks, allot😃😂
Sorry but the x3 with the cheap interior shouldn't score overall higher than a 5
Both are absolutely horrid inside and put. 🤢🤢🤢
X3 looks like a Capybara…and not in a cute way
Both are a pile of crap ..not for me.. thanks
My God the X3 is ugly !!! 😬
German designs are falling apart.
