I appreciate the fact that you showed the Chun-Li easter egg, even tho this is a TAS. You can also see Chun-Li at the end of the game if you defeat Myria/Tyr while having the “broken sword” equipped for Ryu
Just got this game back after 16 years. My pops and mines save files are still on it after 30 years since we both beat it . Im gona use the 3rd save file to start it over. I loved this series. Battles a bit tedious i know....but this game was awsome. I got the good ending and the chun lee cameo ... Goodtimes. RIP pops 😢 . Ill keep your save files as long as physics allows me too.
I don't think kids nowadays have the patience to fight every couple of steps and go through difficult mazes or dungeons. I'm surprised myself that beat all breathe of fire series.
Capcom should totally invest on a remake of this but with modern day sprite work. Test the waters on how well it sells and follow suit with 2-4 and a remake of dragon quartar.
@thecognitiverambler8911 V was alright, just different. I think the series ended because one of the main creaters of the series died. I'm not exactly sure though VI is just an awful tribute though, I agree with you there.
I just finished it a couple of days ago. I was hoping to find another IP to get into, but the amount of tedious bs turned me off entirely. I finished it due to sunk cost fallacy.
@@sethcamargo1928 I can't speak for BoF3 and beyond, but yes, BoF1 and 2 are unforgivably tedious. At the very least, BoF2 has a much better balance for party members. Though even this is plagued with backtracking, as it involves the shaman fusion system. Of the 6 shamans in the game, 4 are hidden away (3 require backtracking) and entering critical health undoes a fusion.
@@Atmapalazzo bof1 is a lot better than 2. Because you can use mrbl3 to avoid encounters!!! bof 2 dont have something like that and its so tedious (smoke just nerf encounters). So bof1 its a lot better ;)
While I totally prefer BoF2 over BoF1, especially in story and characters, I must admit that the music in BoF1 is mostly better and varied, BoF2 uses the same themes most of the time, 1 for towns, 1 for dungeons, and 1 for mountain paths. Even the battle music I think is better in BoF1 (sadly this game has no exclusive final boss theme).
3:14:56 The player goes right to use the down arrow. This puts the character one space lower that it should be, forcing the player to move back up one space and to the right for a total of three moves. A quicker way would be to move down to use the right arrow. That would put the character right next to the next arrow that needs to be used (one move compared to three). This isn't the first TAS I've seen that does this. Does that mean there is some kind of penalty involved with using the faster arrow? Like, does it spawn the character on top of a battle square or something?
I played Breath of the Wild 2 on the SNES downloads on Switch. Did they list it wrong cuz it looks exactly like this with story except i didn’t get this elaborate ending
I guess it's like Pokemon blue/red, you can press certain buttons on certain frames to get different rng. It could also be brute force with savestates like the hands in SMB3 but idk

It's very satisfying to watch this game without random encounters.
No it isn't, random encounters is one of my favorite parts about BoF
@@Tsukoblue why?

Chief: Take this! It’s not much, but you can use it for equipment.
Ryu: 😒✌️
I saw that 😆

So much nostalgia... Played the heck outta this game when it came out.

its too few of us that would care
no thanks they'd screw it up.
I can only imagine a parallel universe where Breath of fire VII exists.
I dream of a world where Breath of fire VI wasn't what it was.
@@jamesdickens3120 Same. In my brain the series ended at IV tbh. V and VI don't exist to me lol.

BREATH OF FIRE! AWESOME!
At least an hour of this TAS is backtracking. I forgot how frustrating this game could be.

I like the part where the Agni form wrecks the goddess.
Agni breaks the game, big downvote

Actually made it about half way through this game (compared to this vid) around 2011.

Very late but I think you have to get the gold dragon (Agni) transformation.
im skimming through the video, but how are you hitting harder than E-key with the init rang
4 is the best by far, followed by 3 then the one on PS2.
what is the technique to avoid random encounters in this game?

@@DeLittleCat There be a lot of shenanigans going on here
Marble 3's were used heavily, and when they weren't standing still for a couple of frames to let RNG pass the encounter flag.
Using a mrbl3 will prevent random encounters for 127 steps. Even counts down when you move inside a town.
Just curious, why miria got changed to Tyr?
Pretty sure it's because the localization of the game was done by Square, who probably thought that using the name of a Norse god would work better.
Space requirements? 🤔 A lot of things got truncated while translating kanji into English. Jade is short for Judas, for instance.
Shuten on the splash screen. Unexpected.
You totally cheated there is no way you can be that powerful
it's probably a glitch or making full use of the game to do it. Usually Cheats aren't allowed in speed runs.
