Fun fact: when you finally face Jade, Jade will ask if you would like to join Jade's side instead of fighting Jade. If you say yes their will be some dialog. After the dialog, so long as you don't move, after a few seconds, Jade will get bored and have you fight a monster for entertainment. After that more dialog comes up. Repeating this process will have you facing monsters that get stronger one after another. After a few monsters, you will encounter a giant gold slime monster. this monster will give you a HUGE amount of experience points and gold. After killiing the monster, you can repeat this process if you want to build up some experience before fighting Jade and then the goddess.
@@zero-pantsu-samus3203This is one of the big reasons I like hia recaps. Oni uses bg music so those of us who know the game can bop along with it. It also helps for those games I don't know as kind of a pendulum along with his recaps to determine if I'll try a game.

It's always a special thing to visit the first installment in a well-known series. I have only finished BoF4 in the series, and now this one, and I like seeing how many creative ideas formed here and lasted into 4. A lot of cool stuff implemented here, like various dungeon themes and mechanics, the day/night cycle, and even character fusion and transformation (I love that stuff). Aaah Breath of Fire. This was one of those games that I could never quite finish. As in, I'd start it and get like 1/4th of the way through it, then life would happen for a week or so(maybe longer). Then when I finally have time to get back to it, I'd have to start over because I had forgotten everything. The classic cycle. Clearly I missed out because this seems like such a good story. A good game overall honestly. The day/night system. The idea of Fusing. The moments where you change to another character, do a side mission as them, then they become a party member later?? That's pretty awesome, can't think of too many games that do it in that way. I definitely missed out.
